Smash fanbase moment

Now make a mod where everyone is a Fire Emblem character.

Jokes aside, a feature where you can disable characters or stages from showing up on the select screen would be amazing, especially if tied to rulesets.

I personally think it's extremely silly that certain character inclusions can bother someone so much that they feel the need to hide or remove them altogether.

But why not give the option?

Because it's a waste of time and resources? Nobody is forcing you to choose them and there are plenty of other characters to go around.

Waste of time and resources? But World of Light isn't?

Anyway, why does the Smash fanbase have such an issue with people disliking characters? It wouldn't harm anyone just to have the option for Ike to not show up on your CSS.

I don't care if you dislike a character; I just think it's a stupid and pointless feature to implement when you could just not use them.

What about players who only play vs. CPU against the random button? What about players who may want a themed ruleset with only say, Mario or Pokemon content?

Also works for those who want to stop themselves from playing certain characters. I have a friend who is an Ice Climbers main, but it can be difficult for them to improve because they keep impulsively playing characters that they don’t know as well.
It could also work if you’re inviting some friends over to play some casual matches, but say your friend has a really annoying Kirby-just disable Kirby and immediately everyone can have more fun.
Plus, I’d pay good money to get Incineroar off the CSS. What a dumb inclusion. And I’m not just saying that for Grinch Leak bias.
