We're talking about a wild baby mouse. No amount of volts or power scaling will take away from the fact a non-specific, unnamed baby mouse is in a fighting tournament and it'd be embarassing to lose to one.

Pokemon aren't exactly the best options you could have picked, the pokedex entries and lore about what the pokemon, even the weakest of them, are capable of is pretty insane. Some of the fire pokemon for example, if they actually existed, would literally vaporize anyone and anything that comes into close vicinity of them. Not legendaries mind you, average ones. The legendaries are even more insane.
