They clearly aren't doing it to make more good stories or more good games or more interesting NPCs. They're certainly doing it for money and the easiest way to make money involves more monsters that they can make cards, plushes, figures and to take up extra space in Home so you keep paying for a dumb subscription.

I mean, SWSH's characters were pretty good. But yeah, going forward we really need more normal box space.

I haven't played any of the Pokemon games or watched the show since Gen 4 and I can tell that the last 2 generations haven't really been that creative in the character department. Pokemon designs look kind of bland nowadays compared to most of the older Pokemon designs from the first 4 generations.

Older Pokemon designs themselves are arguably just bland Dragon Quest Monsters wannabes. They just sold better outside Japan.

Well, I'm not much of a Pokemon fan but I prefer most of the Pokemon from the first 4 generations. It still sucks Gen 3 never got a rep in Smash as there are so many memorable Pokemon from that generation.

I would trade out Greninja, Incineroar, Lucario and Jigglypuff for Meowth and Grovyle in a heartbeat. Way more relevant, deserving choices and doesn't come off as shallow advertising.

I would trade any of those guys for Deoxys or Blastosie. ***** thing is I heard Sakurai mentioned in a interview or Famitsu Column that he considered Blastoise as one of Pokemon Trainer's Pokemon but went with Squirtle instead to go along with the 3 evolution trend.

Venusaur, Blastoise and Charizard would easily add more variety to the heavyweight side of the cast. I would've loved that idea.

I notice Gen 5 and Gen 7 don't have reps as well from what I heard. While I'm not the biggest Pokemon fan like I said, I think each generation of Pokemon should be represented in Smash as well as every type. I really would love to see a Ghost Type like Darkrai or Gengar.

If they wanted to rep Gen 7 and add a Ghost, Mimikyu exists. One of my friends said he would've loved that one.

As for Unova, can't really think of anyone more deserving or important than Keldeo, Zoroark or Victini. One of them could deserve to not be delegated to PokeBall duty.
