Did you miss the 2010's? Because that's what they've been all about. Unlike Generations and Mania, Adventure 3 would be a new game in a series, not some callback anniversary title.
And what do you mean by, "lost of other Sonic games that COULD be SA3"? Only one I can think of is 06, and I think we can all agree that was not SA3. Heroes you could argue, but that game was specifically made to not be SA3.

When you realize there are lots of other Sonic games that COULD be Sonic Adventure 3, the idea becomes less special. It just becomes a new 3D Sonic game, which I’m sure could be good, but wouldn’t have the spirit of the original two Sonic Adventure games
