I used to live in Nottingham as a really little kid (Not anymore, so I'm not doxxing myself) and I remember finding the whole Robin Hood thing surreal.

I sort of half-get that because a lot of alleyway scenes in films set in New York are actually filmed here in Manchester (such as Morbius.) The main reason for it is mostly because NYC doesn't actually have that many alleyways on which to film on location, but a lot of Manchester's architecture is reasonably similar, so it works in practice. That said, I don't think I've ever actually seen Manchester as a prominent setting in any media that wasn't made here
