It’s been more than 20 years since it stopped being made, before you were born in fact, you have got to let it go

I feel like there was an entire generation of Nintendotubers who spread the narrative that the N64 was the most important console of all time when honestly IMO, like.....almost every other major Nintendo console has a better lineup, and out of that generation I much prefer the PS1 and Saturn

The only major Nintendo console I think can compare to the N64 in the quality of it's lineup is the GBC from the same time period - but both of them are kinda opposites: most of the good stuff on N64 is the staple Nintendo/Rare titles, there's not much digging to do or hidden gems to find (not that they don't exist of course); while the GBC has barely any Nintendo or Rare output and finding the good titles outside of Wario, Pokemon, Zelda, and ports of tried & tested 80s games involves digging through a minefield of licensed games and character-less puzzle titles that - like all consoles' licensed game libraries - could either be masterpieces or utter trash.

You care a surprising amount

fogbadge fogbadge This is a website about video games. Why are you surprised when someone cares about video games even if they’re old? Reflecting on old stuff is like half of what people post here.

Anyways I also feel like Nintendo’s failure to make a lineup as good as their other consoles contributes a lot to fans overprotectiveness towards Rare. Since Rare made a lot of really great exclusives and the N64 would have been a lot worse without it it’s not really surprising people got weirdly angry about them not continuing to work with Nintendo, and treating it as if companies can be friends with each other.

So what you’re saying is that it somehow makes perfect to complain about the lack of games on a long dead system that stopped having games released on it before you were even born and can’t possibly have affected you in anyway?
