Really? That’s just weird. And I come from Scotland out education system is very violent

How is it wierd? It's a different country's educational system. Obviously not every country is going to be the same across the board. I don't see how having a "homeroom" or "middle school" is wierd by any stretch of the imagination. Some countries have kids walking an hour or so to school or, in some, schooling is done with all kids regardless of age.
