If you are just looking for singleplayer and don't care about online, I'd get the Street Fighter - 30th Anniversary Collection since it has just about all of the mainline games in it. The main games you'll probably want to play are Street Fighter II, Super SFII Turbo, Alpha 2, Alpha 3, and SF3: Third Strike. Start with the original Street Fighter II to get a feel of how 2D fighters work, then jump around to the other ones however you'd like.

If you're looking to play with people online, get Street Fighter V.

I would get street fighter 30th anniversary collection on steam, and then out of those games start with the original street fighter 2. It aged fairly well as far as fighting of games go and later versions of street fighter 2 have arcade modes that are a lot harder so I think it’s good to just start at the first SFII. It’s pretty simple too.

If you like it I’d reccomend playing the other games on the collection, starting with the first version of each game, and trying to work your way up to beating the arcade modes in harder street fighter 2 games.

If you want a more modern game then I’d reccomend ultra street fighter 4 because it’s pretty easy and the story isn’t too hard to understand athough if you care about online you might wanna get 5 instead

Edit: ninja’d oops
