[Official SSB4 Discussion] --- Nintendo announces 2 new Smash games!

I'd welcome a Melee remake with added online, but SSB4 for the 3DS would be bittersweet for me. Smash is the kind of game I want to play on the big screen, so I'd rather Sakurai held off until the Wii 2 arrives.

[Official SSB4 Discussion] --- Nintendo announces 2 new Smash games!

You should know by now that Nintendo isn't in the habit of retiring highly profitable series. Calling it a day on Smash Brothers makes absolutely zero sense. You may as well say Mario Kart is at risk while you're at it. Additionally, Sakurai has already said that he isn't prepared to speak...

What possible reason would Nintendo have for making Brawl the final instalment?

[Official SSB4 Discussion] --- Nintendo announces 2 new Smash games!

It occured to me the other day that we're actually not too far from a time where talk of SSB4 can really heat up. If I remember correctly there was roughly 3 and a half years between Melee's Japanese release and the announcement of Brawl, and we're now coming up to Brawl's third year...

    Tanooki Mario would be better.

They currently only occupy four positions, and two more (Mewtwo and Zoroark) would bring that up to six. Hardly overkill when you consider the fact that something like Mario or Zelda is bound to increase their number of representatives to five in the next game (I think most of us consider Bowser...

    What's your thinking behind that?

Zoroark. The first Pokemon (along with its pre-evolution) to be revealed for the new generation of RPGs. I don't necessarily think Lucario will be cut for SSB4. Remember that Mewtwo was originally going to be in Brawl, so it wasn't a simple case of "one in, one out". I suppose it depends...

I don't see why they shouldn't be able to use other recovery moves (which would still put them into helpless) afterward - tethers included. Considering how many outrageous recoveries we have in Brawl it wouldn't exactly break the game. I'd really like them to sort out Ivysaur's recovery, too...

Does anyone else think more up B moves should be changed so that they no longer put the user into helpless state? It's always seemed like a bit of an odd mechanic to me, and the likes of Snake and G&W have shown that it works alright. Obviously some moves should still do it, but I don't see...

Being the video game icon that he is, I think Bomberman is more likely than anyone from Castlevania. In fact I consider him one of the top options as far as third party characters go.

SSB4 Character Demands Tier List - BACK FROM THE DEAD AND PREPARING THE UPDATE CANNON

Mewtwo Mew K. Rool Black Shadow Little Mac Balloon Fighter Bomberman Good to see Mewtwo running away with this. Hopefully the Japanese miss Mewtwo as much as we do and give him plenty of votes in that character poll thing Sakurai runs.

I don't think anyone expects to see SSB4 for the Wii. It'll be on the next console.

I can't see Sakurai not being on board for the next Smash Brothers. He actually doesn't talk about characters and features he wanted to include in Brawl because he wants to hold them back in the event of a fourth game.

I still think Dragon Quest is worth a spot. Massively popular in Japan and a predominantly Nintendo-based series.
