That means the ISO you are using is probably not a vanilla NTSC Melee 1.02 ISO.

I don't think I have that code in my notes anymore, but if I find it later I'll post it here. Check back on past threads in the Melee Workshop. As for your second question, possibly. If there's a universal desire for an update, there will be one. You'll need to use the Dolphin Emulator to play...

You can USB load it with homebrew software such as Nintendont or DIOS-MIOS. I personally recommend the prior.

Are you using Windows or Mac, and which version of Windows? Maybe try re-downloading the files and making sure they are all extracted from the archive before using xdelta. I can't legally supply you a pre-patched ISO, but I'm sure if you ask around or look around you might be able to find one...

Check out the Melee Netplay Community Build. There's some modifications to a few of the stages like FoD that make them more playable on older systems wanting to participate in netplay.

There's a GC controller calibration ISO here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/jauol3fwd1j1l03/PAD_MEMES.iso I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but it should help. You can use this on console or on Dolphin. It's really helpful for finding/testing deadzones and whatnot for ICs...
