  • Oooh, pictures! Fun! Hmm, let's see...

    1. I really love this one. The shading is fantastic, naturally. Even though it's monochromatic, it shows the contrast wonderfully. I also really love his expression, and his feet. Beautiful!

    2. This one seems... unfinished somehow. Your shading is a little rough around the edges, and his right side seems a little wonky somehow. Like, distorted. I have a feeling that this one has potential, but it feels unfinished somehow. I think you need to put a little more work into this one. Good work!

    That said, how are you?
Oh no! Feel better soon! :( I wouldn't get bent out of shape if you couldn't get a chance to enter. As it says in the OP, there'll be more in the future. But it would be cool if I could compete against your mad shading skills. :)
Hey dude. Are you entering AWYP? My piece is nearly finished.

Nice pic in the critique topic by the way. :)
Oh okay then, no problem. I was just worried you might have ran into some sort of problem:).

    Toodles.
    Sweet, sounds like fun. :)

Hmm, not much really. Just getting ready to go to work. Except it's all rainy and foggy out. And it looks COLD. But it's a job... so what can I say? It's not like I work outside anyway.
Ah okie then. Yes, definitely show your girly side:-p.

I forgot about the two day schedule. :)
Indeed, we need to change that.

How is your art going? Do you have any stunning masterpieces to show me?
Okay m'am, just take good care of yourself and don't try too hard on P.E., just stand there and look pretty, at least for today lol.
I kissed a girl and I liked it! The flavor of her cherry chapstick!! LOL Sup m'am. Did you finally get my card...<_<?
    Well, thanks. :)

But seriously, if you ever need to talk to someone, I'm usually around. Don't hesitate.
It seems like you are being kind of hard on yourself. I'm the same way, though. Don't worry, it'll come back. Like I said, just give yourself some time. :)
I hope your grandmother will be okay. :(

I have this problem sometimes too. Do you feel as if everything you draw is awful or not worth the time or just plain bad? And you have no creative flow, and everything feels forced? What I would recommend is just take a break. Don't force yourself. Give yourself some time. It could be a result of being stressed out about your family. Just take a week off, and try not to dwell on it. It'll come back, I promise.

I hope this helps. If you need to talk, I'm here.
Sure thing! I don't really have any on my comp, unfortunately. I'll try to take some pictures or something. I keep meaning to buy a scanner. Sigh. Someday.
Well, thank you! But I doubt that I will. Art is something I do for fun. I never hoped to make a career out of it.
    That's awesome. :)

Well, you have lots of time to figure it out, and you've got some great talent. I can totally see you working for Disney. You have a great style for that sort of thing.
I can see improvement from your earlier work. It's hard to see when it's your own.

You're going to college for illustration? That sounds sweet, I'm so jealous. What sort of illustration do you plan on doing?
I think I see a trend here. Lots of Stitch. So cute. I really like your Stitchu.

Okay, your conte work is fantastic, as is your photography. Your leaves photos are beautiful. Your sketches are really good also. I really liked the eggplant one. It's also refreshing that you're not afraid to colour your work, because a lot of artists are really turned off by colour. Which is kinda lame. Their loss.

In my opinion, your digital art is good. It just lacks polish, and that is something that will come with time and practice. It's clear that you put a lot of effort into your work, as evidenced by your "Claw Me Out" piece. Just keep doing what you're doing, because you're doing great.

I want to see your C.C piece when it's finished! :bee:
Well, thanks for the compliment. I find it hard to create proper expression over the interwebz, so I just wanted to make myself clear. :p

I really like your artwork, so don't be too harsh on yourself. I foresee great work from you. :)
Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that about digital art. Here come's your explanation: When I was in high school, I took a digital art class. And I found it increasingly frustrating. It was as if I needed to use my hands to do things, and I didn't realize that art was so tactile for me until I took this class. Whenever I was working on something, I just wanted to shove my hands through the screen and get into it. I need to have the colours and materials to manipulate myself.

Sorry, I know that sounds kind of vague, but it's just how I feel.
    Heh heh, thanks. Embarrassed.

I'm not big into digital art, so I don't really use Photoshop or anything like that. I like sketching mostly, colour pencils, or ink. And photography, but my camera is not very good. I guess I'm kind of a traditionalist.
Okey-dokey. I probably won't get a chance to go online today, but perhaps tomorrow?
Fantastic! Looking good so far. My only suggestion is perhaps a different colour for the background. Also, C.C's bum looks kinda... square. Like a ninety degree angle. Maybe you should make it a little rounder?
