Anyone else find it ironic that jab is safer on shield than actually hitting someone?

Tether grab still beats shields. Tether grabs are problematic because of their insane end lag not the slightly-longer-than-regular-grabs startup. Also, ZSS has quick aerials that she can safely space around shields. Not to mention her awesome KO potential. Pikachu has none of these.

Pikachu is not top tier he is high tier at best. He has no answer for the most dominating aspect of the game- the shield. Whereas, the other top-tier characters- ZSS, Sheik, Rosaluma- can safely space their attacks around this dominating force.

Vanilla only is hardly unifying the meta.

Sheik has an even bigger problem killing and Zero won with her. Ultimately, it's all about execution. ESAM kept attacking shields which we all know is a big nono for Pikachu. Maybe I am wrong though I would like to hear ESAM's thoughts on the matter.

Indeed Heavy skull bash is the same which, in my eyes, is a buff. Regarding the 12 frames added to ledge grabs, it is not insignificant. falling Uair and Fair onto the stage were great options to use when it came to ledge mixups, and now these options have less impact.

I don't think you understand. When facing good opponents (this is key), they will notice you are fishing for a dash attack and shield your attempt to do so. Dash attack has massive end lag leaving you open, once shielded, to get punished by the most damaging attack an opponent has.

A single thread with all of the changes to pikachu for the new patch is appropriate. Thus, I'll begin: Confirmed: 12 frames added to pikachu's ledge grab animation.

I would suggest NEVER fishing for a dash attack unless, that is, you prefer getting hit by charged-Usmashes from opponents with rage.
