meh, the way I've always seen it is that Yoshi is bottom tier, yes, but the huge disadvantages on the tier list start after Yoshi. that could be my bias, but I could've sworn that I read that somewhere.

As my favorite nintendo character (aside from Gooey, but he isn't in the game, unfortunately), I'd be ashamed to not use Yoshi. Doesn't matter how good/bad he is, I'm using him. :)
