I love how we're getting content from the new Yoshi game in the next Smash game before that Yoshi game comes out for the 2nd time in a row.
I can't wait for Sakurai to announce my most-wanted character is joining the fight: Baby Dr. Pink Gold Young Dark Toon Zero Suit Diddy Kong Jr.
For being a character that wasn't on my personal wishlist of newcomers, I'm pretty happy that Isabelle is going to be a fighter- and a unique, non-Echo one at that.
I miss the Smash 4 thread where everyone would post funny/meme pictures. I don't think we have one for Ultimate.
Listening to the Forest Temple theme from LoZ:OoT while going around the forums feels oddly appropriate.
My heart goes out to everyone affected by the earthquake and typhoon in Japan- hoping everyone there stays safe and recovers soon. The Direct can wait.
I've returned from my trip. How do the boards look now? Same? Ah, well. Was hoping for some crazy news to be announced before I got back. I guess it's better to see announcements while I actually have internet, anyway.
Going to be away on a trip for a few days. Hopefully the boards won't be in shambles when I get back.
I know I'm late to this, but the Smash Bros. Pro Controller looks kind of like a cow to me... and for some reason that makes me want it more.
So am I the only one who wants the Poké Ball Plus controller compatible with Smash Ultimate? I think it'd be hilarious to be able to use that thing.
Roster predictions for Ultimate are all well and good, but I prefer to spend my time looking at the characters I most want to get in then sigh, knowing they probably won't.
I hope "never ask me for anything ever again" becomes a staple Nintendo meme, if it isn't one already. At least as iconic as "please understand."
I love that most of the character art depicts them in very action-y poses with clothes/hair flowing about. It really adds to the sense that this is going to be the ultimate Smash game.
Smash 4 had 3 newcomers that I was absolutely hyped for, so I probably shouldn't complain with Ultimate having so far 0 newcomers that got me particularly excited, besides Chrom somewhat. Right now I'm looking forward to the new modes more, which to be fair look great for both casuals and competitive players. Just hoping for a new story/adventure mode now...
The Smash Direct was really good, but the newcomers were the low points for me. Only character I really got excited for was Chrom, but the others joining is neat. The highlights were everything that you know will get people buzzing about the meta such as Training mode, stage morphing, Final Smash meters, etc. And the main menu's secret mode, of course.
Plans for Wednesday: Wake up to watch Smash Direct at 7am, proceed to be disappointed that Banjo-Kazooie, Chorus Kids, and Mallo won't be confirmed as fighters. If a story mode/stage builder returns, though, I'll be super happy.
