Even Lucina's cape lacks the symbol in Awakening. The cape symbols are really more of a Smash thing. I'd leave the symbol, or at least give him his own cape symbol, as all the other Smash FE characters with capes have cape symbols.

Oh man, I'm just now seeing this, but this excites me greatly. Brawl Samus looks too dated imo, and Smash 4/OM Samus is too plain. This is the best Samus design, and I am so glad to seeing a proper mod for it is in the works.

The Smash 3 team is doing that Mario costume themselves, assuming you are talking about the Smash 4 costume. I would also advise against deviating from standard final smash eyes unless there's a really good reason for it, but this seems rather arbitrary to me.
