  • Been struggling a ton with my mental health the past few months. This resulted in me ruining a friendship and I still just feel so bad. I'm not sure what to do at this point, other than leave them alone for a while. So that's what I'll do, but the part that sucks is they struggle with mental health worse than I do. I worry about them and I hope they'll be okay.

Something got posted by trolls on a site we're both on. It really scared me, in light of everything that happened to me around a couple months ago.
    A neat thought I had:
    Mario movie, Luigi gets kidnapped
Luigi's Mansion, Mario gets kidnapped and Luigi gains some confidence and bravery when on his own, instead of only when he's with Mario.
Mario movie 2, Peach gets kidnapped and the brothers, now much more adept and brave, must save her.
I just think one of the main characters getting kidnapped per movie would make for a nice through-line to tie the movies together, in addition to being accurate to the games.
And it could work well for a Yoshi or DK movie too. Yoshi would serve as a prequel, where the Yoshis protect and/or rescue the babies from being kidnapped. And could explain how exactly Peach ended up staying in the Mushroom Kingdom.
DK movie, either go the route of Cranky gets kidnapped and him and DK resolve their father-son issues along the way of DK saving him and the banana hoard and beating K Rool, or maybe Diddy gets kidnapped and DK goes to save him despite writing him off as an annoying fan, and DK's opinion does a 180 as he and Diddy end up best friends by the end. Again while the duo get back the banana hoard and defeat K Rool. Actually, that might be able to work all as one film, where Cranky gets kidnapped, Diddy joins DK to save him and they become besties, etc.
One last fun idea, what if Bowser got kidnapped and was the only hope of beating the new big bad, so they had to reluctantly rescue him and work together? That would end up pretty hilarious for a possible Mario 3, and tbh Fawful would work perfectly here. Though a new big bad exclusive to the films could also work. I just love it when Bowser is forced to work with the good guys, it humbles him in such hilarious ways. Oh! Another idea! Junior could get kidnapped and Bowser must plead for help in saving his son!

Well this ended up becoming a huge ramble, thanks for reading it! I'm just very very excited at the prospect of more Mario universe movies!

And damn, this made me realize there's tons of kidnapping in these games
I'd like to see Nintendo do a little Mario Cinematic Universe. A DK movie, then do Luigi's Mansion, then maybe a Yoshi movie, or at least give Yoshi a prominent role in Mario 2. But Mario 2 ends it all, maybe even with a Bowser and K Rool team-up for one last climactic fight. And that's it. A simple four or five series of films.

I'd love a Wario movie as well! Though, I'd prefer it before Mario 2, because I think Wario would work best as the Rodan to Mario's Godzilla. Enemies and rivals at first, but they team up when the bigger threat comes along. After all, Wario's supposed to be kind of a jerk but not really evil.

I reckon Wario would make a great series, personally. Each episode focuses on one of his schemes with which to make a ton of cash, with the final two episodes being a two-parter where he comes up with the idea of stealing the castle of some dumb hero called Mario (a very loose retelling of SML2:6GC.) There's all sorts you could actually do with that as a concept, including maybe a dedicated WarioWare episode or whatever, and it'd be fun seeing him in a ton of different situations like that.

Actually yeah, I think I like a Wario series best of all. There are a lot of characters in WarioWare, so it would be a lot for a movie to handle giving all of them screentime, and other characters like Captain Syrup, on top of a main conflict for the movie, and Wario and Mario being enemies. A series would do Wario's world and friends better justice.
