Incredibly helpful and well written guide on a character often forgotten or overlooked. Took a look at this quite a long time ago and have come back now and again as well. Helped me toward becoming one of the best, even if one of the only, Olimars in my area. Happy to read a guide from one of my favorite players!
1. Helpful, thanks! Though the sweet spot on his dair is not based on location. You can spike with any part of the move with the first frame hitbox.

2. Also, does "pocket pikmin" still work? What is the exact timing for it? I can't get it.

Dair spikes anywhere on the move just has to be the first frame the hitbox is out. As for Pocket Pikmin when the Bayo Patch came I had trouble doing it, but I did have it done mid match a couple times so it's still in the game, however I haven't done extensive testing to figure out if the timing has changed or not.

Really informative written information, the video clips were a great visual aid (though please add the rest), and I learned quite a lot about how Olimar works.

Amazing guide. I didn't know Olimar was this complicated.
For the pikmin pluck it has frames active of one frame and a faf of 9 frames. and for the pikmin pluck cancel, does that mean we can pluck the pikmin at frame 1(or 2 if you count input lag) we can cancel the rest of its lag by either moving shielding or attacking? I don't really understand the pikmin pluck cancel, can you please help? also-amazing guide, one of the best on smash boa

Oh maybe I didn't make it to clear in the guy, I can go clarify more at a later date. Essentially what it is, is that you input Pikmin Pluck, and the Pikmin will come out on the first frame, but you can't cancel the animation into another action until frame 9.

Essentially what are olimar's most reliable kill moves and what does the wiki mean by "confuse and disorient"?
This was a great guide but I was wondering how to deal with fast aggressive characters that can block pikmin toss such as Shulk

They have to come to you so pivot attacks can be a good way to catch they're approach. Also side-b with purples is really good.

Excellent guide, i was considering writing one myself, but no longer see the need due to this guide already being readily available. The only thing i might suggest adding are some lineup specific combos (e.g. having a lineup of 1.Blue 2.Red 3.White and the Dthrow>Fair>Toss combo possible using said lineup) and maybe consider a little more formatting(Perhaps highlighting Go To kill and combo moves in specific colors?) Idk, just a preference of mine ^-^

I didn't really include combos like that because there are some many variables that affect follow ups. Even I change up how I combo out of down throw mid match sometimes. Thanks for the suggestions though, I'll keep them in mind.
Just finished reading this guide and it was fantastic! I can't wait to translate some of the techniques from this guide into my own gameplay!
Olimar deserves more love and what not with a perfect detailed guide, I'm sure I battled your Olimar in for glory with my Shulk and I saved all my losses just because Olimar is my sub, your Olimar helped improve my Olimar a lot thank you Myran :D.

Excellent guide, it's actually probably one of the best I have read! Though may I suggest adding a combo section, where you can write down some combos that consistently work on most of the cast. EX. D-Throw to F-Air, or D-Tilt to U-Tilt.

I thought about that, but didn't want to because of how different Pikmin color knockback, enemy weight, and rage all affect it. I'd rather give them tools, and let people experiment. I'll think on it though.
As an aspiring Olimar main, this really helped me with the properties of the Pikmin.
