How to choose a main

before starting smash bros you always have to have a main so I'm going to tell you how to find one
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First step:
First you have to consider characters you have liked in other games for example when i started I liked to play alot of legend of zelda so i decided to be a link main in 64 and clear classic with it which i recommend to keep your main until you clear classic then check the next steps.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Second step:
The second step is to check the tier list. The tier list shows the characters punish game, combo game, and just how good that character is among the smash community. For example I used to main roy but then when i looked at the tier list i realized marth was a better choice which leads to the third step.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Third step:
In the third step you have to consider what makes that character special and what priorities it has over the rest of the cast. For example marth has a disjointed hit box which means if the opponent im facing is fox they have to play defensively because fox sort of has to attack through his sword and find an oppening to attack. An example of what makes that character special is that for example Falco's shine sends the oponent upward which then you can punish them with a dair. Also you might want to consider weight fall speed and over all how that character controls.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fourth step:
The last step is to improve your main finally and figure out why they place that high or low on the tier list you want to interact with people on the smash boards and see how you can improve your character

It's alright. However IMO, I wouldn't recommend using the tier list to choose your main. Do you like Kirby, and you're playing Melee? Or Ganon in Brawl? Main them! It's no fun maining MK if you ha him as a character. Feeling comfortable with them is still important, though. Fox may be Melee No. 1, but don't main him if those shine combos are too much for you. Use an easier to manage character! But that's just my opinion. It's your guide!
It's a pretty good idea but try to add a little bit of detail into each part
