A Super-Effective Pound - A Guide to Smash 4 Jigglypuff!

you fail to go over a lot of combos, and i know youve had little time with puff and because of that you missed a lot of things about her moves that actually make her quite good, you also failed to say if the move was shieldsafe and how they should approach, and so on
Sweet guide! Descriptions are informative and everything's structured nicely. Having to click the spoilers every time was slightly annoying though. I think it should also be mentioned that Pound is a shield-breaking move.
And do you think it would be appropriate to note falling Up-Air into Rest as a combo? https://youtu.be/nuISnavIHho
As a Puff main, this guide is definitely very accurate and helpful!
Too many spoiler menus. takes a lot of clicking and scrolling to see everything. Also, no KO percents. It's okay, but not that special. The organization is what ruins it for me.

That was just an organization method I'd thought I'd try since someone else did it and I thought it was a good idea. I don't plan to do this kind of organization method for the next guide I make, even though it wasn't that bad to other people, and if K.O. percents were this important then I should take that into consideration. Thanks for the review though!
Pretty good but you seriously need to say that side b weakens shields by a lot
Not very informative and could use some cleaning up. No KO percentages, damage outputs or anything and is really more opinion based than fact based.
A nice organized review! One thing you could add is a separate spoiler tab for combos, that way they can be referenced quickly.

I was actually trying to make a Game and Watch guide that had that tip in mind. Though, I never really finished it since I thought I was losing potential in him and also thought that I did better as my main man Bowser. So most certainly I plan to do that in the next guide if I ever get to making another one.

Glad you enjoyed the guide!
Quite informative, maybe some spacing techniques?
Pound can't even be super effective on any pokemon unless it's an inverse battle you scrub

But in Smash, pound can be an extremely effective move, given the power to a lot of damage to your shield or send them flying preparing for a combo.

In that sense, you could say it was......super-effective. OoO
I'd just like to add (from personal experience) that, with quick enough flicks, it's possible to use Neutral-B to break a poor saps shield. It also has the potential to out roll counters at times; just don't try to turn back around too quickly. Finally, from my over-use of it, I find rollout doesn't always connect? I have absolutely no reason for it to do that, but this spot accuracy gives me a love/hate relationship with it, as it can either make or break a given situation.
awesome guide! Also: I hereby suggest that crouch->shorthopped Rest should be called "The Pouncing Tiger"
While this review does have decent information concerning Puff, making a guide only out of your own experience is still not enough to have the full view of what Puff could be capable of. Online matches shouldn't be completely relied on, since the playstyle for both online and offline can be quite different.

Is there any Jiggs player that had some influence lately? Because that way they could share some of their experiences if they are willing to participate in this.

They should be.

For the Jigglypuff brethren.
This is a good guide, missing some small stuff but its pretty useful. I wrote more in the discussion.
I liked the guide, a lot of good information, but there were a few nitpickey things about terminology.

Shield breaks are not jumps OOS, shield breaks are what happen when you get hit with Shield Breaker (or just in general your shield runs out and you get stunned). Also, and sorry for being so nitpickey, it's annoying to see throws referred to as grabs.

Still, like I said, good guide. I had never realized how good d-throw was in comparison to other throws. It was interesting to me that you also play Yoshi/Jigglypuff, those are my two mains too. Wonder if they just go well together?

Oh, right. I've just heard of people who say shield break meaning they immediatley got out of thier shield, not literally break them. But yeah, I see people getting confused about that. It's OK for you to be nitpicky. No matter how small or how big the problem, it's something I should incorporate in my future guide(s).

It does feel strange how I main Yoshi and Jiggs. I mean I play very offensive, doing a lot of short hops and aerials and both Yoshi and Jiggs (esspecailly Yoshi) can easily rush down on the opponent in different ways. Long story really. Glad you enjoyed the guide still!
Very detailed. Time to practice my Puff!
Nice overview of moves, but uses an outdated video and misses the fact that Uair can combo into rest(as can utilt).
This guide really helps with understanding what moves are most effective , etc.
I really wanted to main Puff in Smash 4. This is just the guide to help me!
Very helpful guide that not only lists moves, but also lists their usefulness and comboing ability. Written by a self-proclaimed skilled Jigglypuff player sharing their knowledge.

This guide helped/convinced me to add Jigglypuff to my Try-Out Pool™.

By the way, you may want to put the damage the flower from Rest does. It does 35%, bringing the total damage of Rest up to 55%.

I'll add that the next time I update the guide, which will be when I decide if Sing will be anymore useful than how I described it after seeing a certain video. thanks!
Well put together guide.
As a former Puff main and currently my secondary in Melee and Smash 4, I can safely agree with just about everything you've said. Her rest was so deadly in Melee because it send opponents flying to the side, whereas in Brawl and this game, it sends them upwards.
Nevertheless, her aerial game is beautiful and her rest is relatively accurate. A sweet-spotted back air can kill pretty early, and before Little Mac was nuked in the 1.0.4 update, Puff was my go-to option against Mac.

Good guide though. Keep it up.
Sing has actually been buffed considerably in this game. Your opponents sleep for longer than in previous games, so if you use sing in the right spot you generally get a free hit with Rest or a powerful side smash depending on how far away they are. It's also a handy attack for transitioning between air game and land game as your opponents fall asleep much faster than in previous games.

That's what another person told me, I believe both of you, and always forget to use it. I mean maybe as a somewhat Jigglypuff secondary in Brawl and occasionally in Melee, I am just not used to trying to use Sing. If I ever play Smash 4 again, I'll try it when my opponent is at a high percent. Thanks for the advice, and glad you enjoyed the guide.
