I'm not sure how early we'll be able to start the smashfest/BBQ.

If we start early enough we should be able to do Teams and Singles for Melee tournament.

However IF we are unable to have time for both what would everyone prefer? Melee Teams or Singles.

Brawl Teams and Singles are for sure so don't worry about those.

I really, really, REALLY want to go. For Melee & Brawl alike. My Mom would probably think I'm a total nut, going to Hawaii just for a Smash tournament. But hey! A hot-spot like that? Vacation ftw! We need more Canadian Sonic representing anyways. And I could use one vacation of travelling before I go to college in the beginning of 09'.

I'll see what I can do. It would be an HONOR to play professionals such as Eggz, PC Chris, Korean DJ, and Forward, and so on and so forth.. ... And prolly' get 4-stocked while I do it. XD Irregardless (lol, non-existant word ftw), a vacation + experience and a half for both games. Is made of win in my books.

i really think more stuff should be added to the title so people know how awesome of a tournament can hawaii throw. well known mainland pros, uprising hawaii brawlers, $1500 prize pot, hot vacation spot... god **** i am excited for this.

I understand. But if you can manage to come, it'll be one hell of a vacation you will never regret going to. We are all nice people and can tell you the good places on the island. Sometimes it's not just about the tournament.

just in case some ppl didn't know, two of the major direct fliers to hawaii have gone out of business recently. aloha air and one other. so the earlier you can get a flight ticket, the better (as always).

true that true that. i appreciate the ones who actually find ways to make money for their tickets instead of saying "oh, I really wanna come pwn you but plane is just too expensive." mainland tournaments are all about hardcore smashing, but hawaii is a bit different. we will give you fun times besides the great smash playing. we won't let your tickets go to waste just for a tournament!

Keeping my fingers crossed for this. But I SERIOUSLY hope that I can get housing! As it stands, I'll be the sole representative of Canada (unless Sid "LemonLau" joins the party, then we're coming for Smashing Doubles in full force.)

I need a vacation. And what better then enjoying Hawaii and playing video games all at the same time?

It's time to find the best flight rates and determine how much spending money I'll bring.

To be honest, this is kind of like a dream come true for me. The community is nothing short of amazing and it's not every day you get the opportunity to play alongside some of the greats of Smash Bros. Let's have a blast, enjoy a little vacation; and I hope to do Canada proud ftw.

alright, i guess i will post up my plan of housing. My friend Joel will be able to house 1 or 2 people at his place, but that can only happen if he isn't busy working in a exchange program during our tournament week. If **** happens, then I am going to take the 1 or 2 that he is already housing to my place. Problem solved.

Now that I realize there are actually more people looking for housing but Hawaii can just only provide so much. It's because most of us still live with our families (including DarkMusician and I) and it may cause problems and inconvenience.

Here's the last resort.

There is an empty apartment below mine (I live in a duplex, or a splitted house) available. It still needs to get some paper works done in order to lease it and it may take a while. I am trying to talk to my landlord to open it up for us just sleeping at night or have a station to play a little smash if I can get a TV there and the electricity works. But since I am asking for a favor, I can't host a good 8 to 10 people because it's just too ridiculous. I think anything else than 4 or 5 is fine. Also, if I can get you guys to chip in a little money to sweeten the deal, that'd be nice too. It won't be a great amount where it could get you a motel room but a little to show respect.

I work in the summer too so some days I might not be able to drive you guys around. I might have other people to keep you company during the day. But that's another story.

I tend to offer a little settlement of cash for housing/whatever anyways. If I really had to, I could afford motels/hotels. But Hawaii being such a hot spot, I'll bet that it's still super expensive (In Niagara Falls, at a decent motel it costed around $200 dollars a night. O_o; ).

I'll be sure to bring up a couple of questions such as convenience of arrival and the duration of my stay (though I found out that the longer I stay, the less expensive the flight is. Weird. O_o; ), I might just copy PC and show up on the 22nd and mosey off on the 30th.

If there are any questions needed to be asked of me if we can arrange housing? DMusician's got my contact info via the webs and AIM (hikari to yamii)

Or just send me a PM or an E-mail. Until I buy some time cards for international calling ftw, we can't contact one another verbally without my phone racking up the $$$.

as far as convenience, me and darkmusician live fairly close to the airport and town, where most of the events are held. since we are housing oos players, it's also our responsibilities to drive you guys around and stuff. if anything, you can talk to darkmusician and eventually your words will end up in my ears or i will just do whatever darkmusician asks me to do in terms of picking up people and stuff.

if nobody else in hawaii can house you, then it's all up to the emtpy apartment right below mine. i am the last resort as i mentioned before. because i can probably offer the most basic housing compared to others.

if you decide to come on the same date as pc, that'd be better because i am taking pc already.

Yeah man, I've been asking alot of people. And that's pretty much the main problem. I can relate because it costs me over 500 to travel anywhere on the mainland.

I'll be thinking it over. I've wanted to go to HI for the longest time. It really depends on how fun AZ12 is, how well I do, whether I can find a discount to go to this, and a few other things. I might try to snag my girl, and just hit up a hotel and stay the full weekend, so that I can do smash, in conjunction to finally getting to go somewhere nice with her.

Plus, I love me some Forward, and I need to **** sumdat KDJ and PC.

Well as it stands if I can actually arrive on the 22nd and leave on the 30th, that comes to a total of around $850 for the plane tickets. Probably because I'm travelling to another country, let alone Hawaii. That doesn't count spending money or whatever else I'll need either.

There's something I need to discuss with a friend (I'm still coming to this, 100% for certain) before I need to discuss housing and times and arrangements with one of you. I'll give one of you guys a shout when I can do such.

And duuude. Come aboard! The more Smashers the better, more Melee/Brawl to go around. Plus, I could use more Sonic friendlies.
