only ones left to see are the FOXHOUND, Wario Ware symbol and FE symbol.

Nah, FE does apply since it has a stage. Stages have a symbol on the site.

FE isn't confirmed either.

The stage hasn't been confirmed as FE, so don't say "lolz FE is teh icon stagen lol!!!1!!9".

The stage really doesn't fit any other game series, really. Plus, some people identified it as a castle in Fire Emblem 3.

Pretty sure doesn't cut it. Unless you are 100% sure (which you cannot be until Sakurai announces it), don't say FE.

Whether or not there may appear to be something close to a FE symbol on any flags in any video, it doesn't confirm anything about anything. Although I do think it will be a Fire Emblem stage, we shouldn't assume anything to be true yet.

Also, I agree that Wario seems like his symbol should be changed from that boring *ss "W" to the symbol on his jacket with the bomb and the 'stache. Its just more aesthetically pleasing, not to mention it is more specific to his most recent franchise.

Looks to me like it's not just veterans then newcomers, it looks like franchises from the original come before any added in Melee. So I'm guessing 2, 5, and 7 will be Donkey Kong, F-Zero, and Earthbound.

The Castle stages are confirmed as FE stages. It is the Daein Castle from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance.

i honestly don't think there is 18 franchises. i bet that's where pit has his. i think more franchises end up after pit's, like Snake's could be 19 or even 22! there's no way we could fit the amout of characters needed in brawl with only 18 franchises. that's just silly

Well, of course, but this icon thing tells us that there are at least 18 icons. One of these icons is the Smash Symbol, so there are at least 17 series (each with its own icon).
