I finally made my Deviljho armor today, and it's...good. The extra sharpness helps, but the lack of earplugs makes me go "gaaah". Now, I'm back to farming the twice darned Ceadus. It's not even a legit battle. It just sits there and...moves. What a drag.

I don't mind Lucas, actually. I think he's much easier than a lot of other characters Link has to fight. Plus the nasty grab release on him. Poor Lucas, we get a free dsmash on him when we grab him. Plus my brother is a lot less scary with thim than with Fox :D

I only watched a couple of the vids (had to procrastinate for my test SOMEHOW you know) but read most of the text.

Hope doesn't matter unless he's being repped in tourneys. He could be GOD tier and **** MK 99:1 but it'd all be pointless if nobody played him--which is what's happening now.

To main Link effectively, you need to learn a lot of ATs and master DI--which make Link a fun character to play. He's not efficient, he's fun. Tourney's aren't exactly about having as much fun as you can. They're all about winning.

Any fool can enter a tourney with MK and spam 'nado and get to 5th place. It takes real skill and effort to get to the same place with Link. Most people don't want to invest that kind of time to get to know Link because in the same time you can fully master a higher tiered character.

As defeatist as it sounds, I honestly doubt Link's going to move up more than two spots.

I dunno, I think Ike is a good bit better than Link personally. Many of his moves can't just be shielded because they push you back so much. And he has OoS options, something Link just doesn't have, and that is in my mind one of Link's biggest weaknesses, not his recovery (although that sucks too).

It is those stats (45 affinity) posted earlier with critical Eye 3 and attack up L. That's when Im wearing los armor upgraded, not +los armor. Except the helmet, I need a ruby to make a los+ Helm and put attack jewels in it. Too bad the dragon and Thunder res is so bad, Rathlos armor is great otherwise.

I dunno, I think Ike is a good bit better than Link personally. Many of his moves can't just be shielded because they push you back so much. And he has OoS options, something Link just doesn't have, and that is in my mind one of Link's biggest weaknesses, not his recovery (although that sucks too).

Is Ceadus only offline?

Yeah, I know. I have a Rathian+ standard setup and I get ***** against Lagiacrus or any of the elder dragons. I love the Heat cancel (hi), Mind's eye and affinity boost the Los+gives. It's fricking perfect for farming Uragaan. You can go mash it's chin with an SnS with Mind's eye lol. Farm some Thunderblock and Dragonfell berries. It negates the res by 5, but it's something.

Ceadus is offline only, yes. However, that doesn't matter because it's by far the easiest fight in MH3. All it does is move about. The only problematic move it has is the hipcheck with renders dragonblight. I'm almost done with my Ceadus+, but farming Lagiacrus+ for horn+ is a massive pain (sarcasm)because of the insanely high drop rate horns+ have.(/sarcasm)
