You're trying to apply reason to English, that's like trying to use a hammer to move water, it doesn't work in any practical sense. Though, like you'll eventually be able to move substantial amounts of water after millions of years, you'll eventually be able to reason out why english is the way it is, it's just impractical.

English evolves based on the whim of the general populace, there is no real rhyme or reason in the meaning of words, as much as a group of Latin-obsessed 17th century introverts tried, they only managed to succeed in creating official grammatical consistency, and their rules are terrible.

If language is discriminatory then it's not the fault of the people using it, it's an issue with the language itself. Attacking people for using the discriminatory language instead of informing them just makes people defensive and is a **** move for something they're really not responsible for. Furthermore you're describing it in terms of "is" not should, you're trying to change the way people view the word not giving a vocabulary correction, it's asserting the way things will be. Especially when you're talking to the more nerdy folks, they will correct you for being wrong when you take this tact.

I haven't considered whether you're correct about this, but what I do know is you're making the same mistake feminism tends to make about masculine biases in language. Yea, they're right, english does have a major bias towards guys, but attacking people for just doing what is correct only makes people defensive, which is why people with a legit complaint are often branded "feminazis".

Be clear on your objectives, don't scumbag your way around the back door and act like it is be correct because it's logical. Language is based on how it is generally used so being illogical in practice is the obvious result of that so you have no basis for considering it correct or expecting everyone to have considered that line of thought, all you're doing is make people defensive and hostile to your cause.
