Final Smash 2: S.O.S.'S Revenge
After the great time everyone had at the first Final Smash, I just didn't want to say goodbye to Melee just yet. It wasn't perfect, but since Brawl has been delayed, I know I can do it better. Last time, I was only expecting 40 to 50 max. But all 3 states (TX/LA/FL) showed up, there was 72 entrants for singles, 28 teams and 9 crews, and I couldn't have been happier. It is far and away the biggest player ran Smash tournament in Texas since MOAST 3. I hope this will only be bigger and better.

At the beginning of a match players can opt for a double blind pick.
Each player can strike one non random stage.
At the start of the first round, each player can use one random reset.
After the first round the loser picks the stage, the winner decides what character he will play and then the loser will pick their character and the next round will begin.
Stall tactics such as Rising Pound and Peach Wall bomber are banned, unless they are for recovery purposes.
No controller mods/macros, etc.
Anything not mentioned here is considered MLG rules, with the exception of the following:
WOBBLING IS BANNED. If you are wobbling for more then 2 seconds, you will forfeit the round.
Crews:
Single Elimination (Double Elimination if time permits)
Random Stages: Final Destination, Dreamland 64, Pokemon Stadium[/I]
20 stock divided among 4 or 5 players.
Each crew will have a team captain. The captain has the final word on who plays when and what character. Each player will select one character before hand, and must stick with that character until the other crew is defeated. Players can normally only change characters between rounds.
Before the first match, each crews declares their characters and players on paper. The paper is then traded to the other crew leaders. This prevents any unwarranted changes to characters.
First round is a blind pick and then the losing team counters with a player of their choice. If the losing crew wants to choose the next stage, that gives their opponent the chance to counter pick their character.
IF any other town wants to challenge SAN ANTONIO then by all means it is welcomed.
SOS's Totally Random Tournament
It's basically like this:
Round 1: Both players pick entirely random characters and HAVE to use them. Then the stage is random (ALL stages on)
Round 2: Players switch to each to the other player's character (i.e. Me Luigi You Link, then it's Me Link You Luigi) Stage selection same as before
Round 3: If it happens, new random characters are selected (No repeats). Random stage again.
It's single elimination, and other than that, all the standard rules from above apply.

Post that you are coming (and be serious about it). You will be added to the list under your state.
Hey guys, I talked with the Gamelot owner, and I have some big important news:
Gamelot is 24 hours on the weekends. This means we can handle any number of singles entrants that get thrown our way. Also, I think we can promise the random tournament, and I suppose low tier after singles nears finish. NOTE: I won't be there all night, but there will be store staff there. If for some reason you want to smash until dawn, be my , but don't come crying if you are still late for teams and crews.
AND NO, YOU CAN'T CRASH AT GAMELOT. The owner would get in major trouble for it.
NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK unless by permission of the manager. Seriously, why would you want to go across the street, and buy something that Gamelot has for less Plus there was a lot of trash left over. Now, if you are getting something you can't get at Gamelot, chances are it is good. Anyways, just ASK first and you will be good. Or you will hear it from Cliff.
Computer area is for paying customers only. There is now a LAN gaming area, with a plethora of games (sorry, no Starcraft) but only if you pay. You can expect to get kicked out if you go back there without paying.
THERE IS NO WIFI. So you will have to check your myspace/e-mail/smashboards/porn before you get to Gamelot. The only internet available will be to me behind the table. I will see about Tio running the brackets live and online.
Lastly, if you weren't thinking about bringing your cube/tv/power strips, no, take it, chances are we can make use of it. If it isn't needed, just put it in the car or something.
Cameras, camcorders, video recording equipment, bring it! I want to make this memorable.
That is all people, please spread the word, this is an important update!
