Alright so I've been reading for ages but the only post I've made is one where I whinged about mewtwo being left off the brawl roster, so I doubt any of you will recognise me.

ANYWAY, I'm a Lucario main and I occassionally go Samus, but lately I've been using ZSS and I find her incredibly underrated; combo ability, spacing, stuns etc. And I came up against a Lucario...he kinda ripped me a new one. I mean, I had no problem beating him up to high % but when he was there he barely had to sneeze on me and I'd be launched like a fool. Happened every time.

Any ideas/tactics/whatever I could be offerred? Thanks.

It's one of those fights where the stage makes all the difference. I try to take him to Lylat, and avoid Luigi's, Battlefield and Yoshi's.

Also Lucarios have this habit of playing of playing very very defensively at high percentages because they'll want to hold onto that aura damage. This is when it becomes hard for you, because campy Lucario is very difficult to approach, and especially, especially hard to land a kill on. Of course, any damage he does is also going to be very painful which just makes it a bigger problem. Again, stage helps (Lylat is love) here. I have my own problems with this fight so I have trouble offering advice, but I try to save one of my side killers (bair, side-b) and space with the other so I can go in for the kill more easily. When recovering vertically, try to grab an edge. Don't land on the stage, it isn't going to work.

Luigi's sucks on this fight because Lucario camps very well in the center of the stage and it's hard to land a kill on him. Above all, ban this stage.

I played a Lucario at my last tourney for the first time- I was significantly better then him, so I won (and therefore dont have much to contribute) but it was a shocker when I found out Lucario's d-air beats our Up air almost every time.
I also didn't know good CP stages, so naturally, I took him to PS1... he liked that. Quite a bit. Don't do that.

Lucario is a pain for ZSS, proably one of your worst matches, I have lots of exp against it 3 Lucario mains. One of them won a tourney near by against people that do good at big tournies, I have no clue how though he is only alright just a huge defensive turtle, even for me.

Bait lucarios down air its not safe on whiff, shorthop air dodge is your friend, along with back and uair.

Lucario's aura spheres don't work well against ZSS unless they are more than about 1/2 charged, you can 1-2 punch them over B, for a free punish, do this alot.

You destroy Lucario on recovery, so make sure if Lucario is off the edge you get that d-smash off, unless the lucario is smart and u-B's into wall cling *shakes fist.

Lucario is one of ZSS worst matches when in close range and they can do some damage, coming back from the ledge is a problem.

Learn how to punish his rolls. A lot of mediocre Lucarios roll all over, and manage to do really well simply because people don't know how to punish his rolls.

After that, it's a matter of knowing the spacing and timing of his attacks, but I assure you, once you've learned how to punish Lucario's rolls, the rest is a piece of cake.

That's the main part.
One week ago I've faced a good Lucario in a tournament.. At the beginning I was very scared of is Aura power and the range of his Fsmash... But afther a few hits I've understand how to deal with it.
Here are the matches (in the second match he chose Bowser on Norfair).

Case and point just play Gauven I don't know how many tourneys I have seen him scrub his way though to the final 8 and just dominate people in casuals with this strategy.

Secret back air owns lucario until like 90% damage lucario really can't do anything against it(except f-smash but you can evade that), serious post.

Heh I might come up for the next chapel hill tourney, maybe Ill see if I can get PAC to come and scrub up doubles with cpt. falcon, ganon team.

*cue us winning the first round and next round getting even more horribly counter picked.
