So not so recently, I got offered by YouTube to make money off my videos. Thing is, I don't want my videos to get taken down or my channel to be locked.

"Without the appropriate license from the publisher, use of video game or software user interface must be minimal, or the associated commentary must provide instructional or educational value. Videos simply showing a user playing a video game or the use of software for extended periods of time will not be accepted for monetization."

I do guide videos, but I might expand into Let's Plays or something. This would also be a good way to promote Smash tournaments and such. Should I do it?

Then don't monetize the vids.
Or, ask the "bigger" LP names. (ie Chuggaconroy)

We get the same thing for some of are videos. A robot found your channel. This is why it specifically says that if you try to monetize your vids that they could be taken down if they have too much video game content in them. VGBootCamp can't get a real partnership with Youtube because most of our videos are tournament matches.

I've already tried it, and I was unsuccessful. I made a guide video of how to play a video game, it got a lot of views, and it didn't get accepted when I submitted it. If it might help, here is a link to my channel:

Somehow big people like SlimKirby, Chuggaaconroy, and others receive partnership, but they seem to not like gaming channels, and I'm not sure how that all works.

I PMed Chuggaaconroy a while back and still waiting on a response. I probably won't do it now since I've had the offer for over a year. It was just the first time they actually e-mailed me about it. It also sucks to hear that about VGBootcamp. Oh well.

Thanks guys!

I remember getting one of these last year (and I got another today), they have relaxed the constraints.

Last years one, through process of elimination, I found out that the only video you can upload which would not violate one of the restrictions, would be a black screen with only your audio. Videos could not contain ANY copyrighted content, could not contain anyone but yourself, or show any locations you dont own (ie; anywhere outside your house and if you dont own a house, then no location was allowed).
