In this thread, simply post the best boss fight you ever experienced in a game.

We don't want easy fights or those where you only have to continously press the attack button to kill the boss.
We want boss fights that really challenged all your gaming skill.

I loved Zelda: Phantom Hourglasses for DS bosses. Especially the flying octopus.

Also Eledees/Elebits For Wii bosses were awesome. My favourite was the Sky Elebit

I also loved Kirby: Canvas Curses for DS last boss. I loved when you had to draw lines to reflect attacks.

Well I have a few...

Kratos in Tales of Symphonia, the first battle. First off you are like OMG because he has turned on you, then you find out he's an angel and working with the bad guys, and has way more powerful attacks/gear then when he was in your party, he's one of those bosses that IS possible to beat but it's very hard, but if you lose the story continues and you lost your chance at more items/gald/exp/GRADE.

Koopa Bros. from Paper Mario and Rawk Hawk/Doopliss from Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Old Door.

Koopa Bros are just Ninja Turtle wannabees, but I thought they were cool, Rawk Hawk was just fun to kill, and Doopliss takes over your body and your partners, I love beating up my partners for not knowing he stole my body ><

Wow, Koopa Bros! I almost forgot about them.

My favorite boss fight would have to be Sephiroth. Multi-forms, long, had. A great story behind him. Finally getting to stab him was made a great day indeed.

Dark Link from Zelda: OoT

He was one of those bosses where you thought 'wow...he's a lot harder then adverage mini-bosses.' I actually felt he was underrated. =/

In golden sun 2 there is to tough guys, the star magician and Dulahan(not sure of the spelling). They cheat.
My favorites probably the boss in Portal.

Giga Bowser was fun and exciting to play against for the first few times I played him.

All the bosses in Paper Mario were awesome. They were each unique and almost all of them were difficult. Sorry, but the Koopa Bros were pretty easy.

Any battle from the masterpeice "Shadow of the Collosus" on PS2. That game is basically one giant, awe-inspiring series of boss fights. Most of the enemies are massive to the point of insanity, and presented in a style that is utterly unique. Killing them involves more puzzle solving than combat, but they are still great.

The End from Metal Gear Solid 3 was is a close second for me. Trying to hunt down a normal sized guy who is heavily comoflauged in a thick forrest is pretty unforgettable. (Those are odd picks, considering I'm a Nintendo fan at heart.)

Accidental post... so I'll use this space to talk about one of my other favorite boss fights: the Omega Pirate from Metroid Prime 1.

I found this one particularily challenging for some reason, and his intimidating appearance kept me on edge. A great boss in a game full of great bosses.

"The Big Cheese" in RE4. Because he was insanely strong, badass, freaky as ****, had 3 forms, and had a killer cutscene before the fight. also beautiful character design.

Did you know Omega Pirate was originally going to be Meta Kraid, but got cut for production purposes?

Anyway, I found the Twilight Princess fight with Ganondorf to be the most epic, but not the hardest. Not by a long shot. Still probably my favorite, though.

My hardest boss fight is probably Emperor Griffon from Dark Chronicle, voiced by none other than Mark Hamill, Luke Skywalker himself. He was hard because he had a ton of health and three phases. The first is a winged form where he hovers surrounded by the three Atlamillia. The second is grounded, but he wields two awesome feathery swords and is generally very hard to kill. The last phase, he just goes berserk and starts using fire magic. Then there's the Dark Element. Ugh.

In Banjo--Tooie...the final boss.

Hag 1 (vs. Gruntilda) on Boss Replay, as it provides minimal health...it was epic. There was A TANK. With everthing from random questions to lasers to mortar cannons to cyanide mustard gas, that was an intense battle.

I suppose the three Anti-Guys in N64 Paper Mario at Bowser's Castle. Without "cheap" items (Metal Cap, etc.), that gets exciting.
