Why do you all want Sonic to be in the game so badly?
I mean.. sure, he's cool.. but it's Just Sonic.

I dont see what the big deal is

1. Sonic & Mario rivalry. Best Rivalry in Video Game history PERIOD.
2. Snake is in, if a person not known for random battles. (Snake uses steatlh, you don't need steath in Smash) Then for the sake of Jesus a blue hedgehog can make it.
3. Sonic's speed could assure him a good spot on the Tier list. Just how Fox goes.
4. Sakarui actually SAID that Sonic was the most requested
and 5. Sega loves Money. (Sonic in Brawl $_$ *ka ching*)

ah yes.. back in the days of the CW1 (Console Wars 1). The battle of button mashing, and the blood curdling cries of the 2nd age gamers as they tried to beat their nigh impossible games...

That's odd, I thought Atari vs Nintendo back in the 80's, was the first war.

Sega vs Nintendo was brutal. I was actually on Sega's side back then. Well actually instead of a SNES I had a Sega Mega Drive 2. (known as Sega Genesis in the US I believe.)
But I jumped back on with the N64, I could smell something bad was going to happen.

I really don't mind the Olympic game I reckon it'll be fun, and pass the time till Smash Bros. Because aussies most likely wont get Smash Bros. till somewhere around Q1 2008.
Besides Olympic games can be fun remember Track and Field NES?

But Sonic really needs to have a Brawl with Mario rather than a boxing match or a race. Also imagine throwing Sonic in a totally different environment, with all the stages we've seen.
Also how cool would a Green Hill stage be?

Plus it's not just about Sonic vs Mario in my view that be a great match.

But think about Sonic vs Fox, Sonic vs Mario vs Luigi, Sonic vs Snake, Sonic vs Link, Sonic vs Samus, Sonic vs Megaman(if he makes the cut.), Sonic vs Megaman vs Snake vs Mario. Sonic vs Kirby, Sonic vs Pikachu, Sonic vs Falcon.

Well you get my point.

I just really liked Sonic back in the day. And now I reckon he's back on track. In my view Sonic and the Secret Rings is the best Sonic game i've played in a decade. And Sonic Rush in all its 2D glory takes us back to the beginning and reminds us of why we love Sonic so much.

Besides sometimes a runner is better than a slowcoach.

...wait..can someone's opinion be proven wrong? We all know sonic fans are crazy (i have a good friend who is one..) but, it's not their fault they have this thing for horrible twisted colored animals >_>

The reasonable approach on this board is to flame. That's right, I should have known. You guys are wonderfully bright.

Anyway yes, just the fact that Sonic is the most requested character guarentees that Sonic will get a spot. And to answer your question, people are so crazy about Sonic because he is the 2nd most recongnized videogame character, after Mario. Because Snake got in Brawl, it makes Sonic a neccesity, in other words, Brawl without Sonic is like Brawl without Mario.

You don't even have a point...

If you didn't grow up during the consel wars you would not be able to appreciate Mario Vs. Sonic...well ok then, it wouldn't be for you...

If you have an opinion you stick by no one will be able to change it even if they supply a better reason...which in such a trivial matter, there is none other than fulfilling a battle people have wanted since their childhood...

But Brawl without mario is NOT Brawl without Sonic.. because Nintendo does not depend on Sonic to cloak all of it's multiplayer games. What I'm saying is that you guys are putting your faith in a player that is either a HIT or a MISS.... not like the ice climbers.

I grew up in the N64 Area. And I did try to unlock Sonic with the 20 man cruel melee. :-P

Sonic in Brawl would be nice and welcomed by almost everyone . . .

Personally, I am not sure about Sonic in Brawl, chances are very high though, with Nintendo and SEGA not mortal enemies anymore, and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games.

But if Sonic is in Brawl, I want him and only him.
