So, please close, lock, flame w/e if this has already been discovered

but i was playing around with some friends today just trying to figure stuff out with yoshi (namely fumi's egg lay cancel ><) when i accidently hit down and b at the same time on the ground killing my opponenent (R.O.B.) at around 120% on FD. I was pretty surprised as i usually need to wait until about 125% to kill with an U-Air, and around 135-140% to K.O. with an F-Smash or U-Smash.

so basically: Down B when used on the ground = more powerful than Down B used in the Air.

I'm still testing out the percents and such, but i found that sense Down-b knocks the opponent UP, it can't be DI'ed also I found that Down-B when fresh (havent used - to used about twice before the K.O.) is more powerful than an Up-Smash (uncharged of course)

keep in Mind that this is not necesarily the BEST way to get K.O.'s (F-Smash KO's at about 5-15% higher than the percent needed to KO with Down-B on ground [keep in mind though that's without D.I.]) But its a good way to surpise an opponent. also when used on the ground when yoshi jumps up it has a hitbox that traps the opponent and forces them to take the hit (Note that This usually only works when the opponent does get trapped)

So to recap This move:
- Can KO without the chance of an opponent surviving due to lack of DI
- Is more powerful than an U-Smash/F-Smash
- And Can catch an opponent by surprise

The conditions are:
- You Need to do it on the ground
- and about 70% of the time you need to hit them with the hitbox when yoshi jumps.

Percents I've found to kill people at (havent done it with all chars just characters that I fight often, I'll update every so often, also all these percents are on FD)

Peach - 100%
Metaknight - 96%
JigglyPuff - 85%
Marth - ~107%
R.O.B. - ~117%
Bowser - ~128-135%
Lucario - 113%
Snake - ~130%

Most of us knew this already. I was under the impression that it CAN be DIed using horizontal DI, though.

I've stopped using it from the air entirely, especially since the grounded version hits twice and is harder to predict. Landing the first hit on the way up almost guarantees that the main hit lands, but not always.

Yeah, I've known this already. Although, I do like the percents.

While this is in discussion, momentarily. I think it's ridiculous to KO Snake with that with Snake being at such a high percent. It's hard enough getting him there to begin with.

Wow I'm too slooooooooow!!! (sonic reference ><).... lol

I'm still surprised it's stronger than some smashes but i'll update with the percents, also I really don't think you can as DI this, my friends and I have been testing it, but it seems like DI doesn't really help.

also I'll change the topic name

Yeah, I've known it could kill, but didn't know how powerful it was until yesterday.

This makes it a quick KO move other than Uair and Usmash, even though you have to be literally next to your opponent to land it. Very handy, I'd say.

I'm rather new to Yoshi and didn't know his down pound was this strong on the ground. Sweet, now I've got another KO option against my freinds who are getting harder to beat as they get better with their mains. For some reason I thought the air was better for this attack because Yoshi would have more momentum with the attack. Thanks for the tip; I've clearly got alot to learn with Yoshi.
