Ugh.. Guys I just lost to another Sonic in a big offline tourn.. Thats TWO tourns in a row that I have lost to that rodent.. Eggs are useless and it seems like he is way to fast to attack with anything. The mind games of the spin attacks are too good and his hit and run attacks leaves my Yoshi all dazed and confused.. Anyone have any idea how to fight GOOD sonics?

On a good note, I did place 7th at the last weeks NYC weekly using only Yoshi... =) So he is moving up!

Offline mean real life? the term offline is different with everyone apparently.

But yeah, I hate fighting sonic with yoshi too. I think the best thing you can do is ditch the eggs and pivot grab ALOT. That's what i do when I fight a good sonic although your's is probably a better sonic.

Gratz on tourney results. You do have to feel sorry for Link though. :p

Yeah, you might not get anywhere with eggs unless you want to abuse his recovery. The main thing I would say is to stick to the air, since Sonic has awful aerial priority and not enough range to get through a bair wall. If he tries to combo you (which he usually shouldn't... like you said, he's more of a hit-and-run character) break out with a nair.
If you want to use eggs, throw one just as he's running away from you so that you can at least pressure him away from advancing long enough to prepare another attack.
This matchup is tough because Sonic is pretty good at pressuring, and Yoshi has few defensive options. Do your best not to shield too much, because Sonic will capitalize on it every time.
Don't bother trying to gimp Sonic's recovery, just toss a few eggs. And he shouldn't be trying to gimp you, but make sure you use your airdodges and super armor at the right time to avoid his bairs that he'll approach with.
I'm sure the way I say this it sounds like it's in Sonic's favor, but most of the time your attacks outrange and outprioritize him.

Sonic is gay. Sonic can punish lag extremely well, and can avoid being combod with his upb (which also gimps yoshi pretty bad). Precise egging on big stages can be helpful, not because it will hit (it shouldnt), but it might trick him into thinking there is an opening, which may allow you to get a pivot grab, and then a cg to fthrow for some decent damage. The main thing you need to do here is avoid getting killed. Sonic isnt good at killing but his kill moves have some nice tricks, for example, spring to uair for an aerial kill is often unexpected and can kill much lower than sonic should, while stutter stepped fsmash has some nice range and power to boot. Dsmash mindgames are neat =) Yoshi can kill a lot earlier. Overall, the sonic matchup is a strange one, u cant rely on things u can in other matchups, because he can put on pressure so well but as long as you can keep dealing damage while avoiding his kill moves and looking for any opportunities to get in your grabs so u can cg. Meh i hate sonic.

Also, pride is too good.
