Yoshi or ICs?

I've been playing Melee for about 1 year now, but am still stuck in the "can't find a main" ditch. I have all the basic techs down (wavedashing, l-cancelling, and all that jazz). I have managed to narrow it down to 2 potential candidates. I'll explain my reasons of why I want to main them, and why not.

Yoshi:

• For
  • Super fun
  • Been playing him for a while, and have a good grasp on specific techs
  • Not many people know the match up
  • Going up the tier list
  • Super armor ftw
  • Damn near indestructible when perfected
• Against
  • Damn near impossible to perfect
  • Really demanding
  • Not beginner friendly
  • No OoS options
  • Low tier recovery
  • easily punishable
  • More cons than pros

ICs:

• For
  • Amazing wavedash
  • Already got wobbleing dialed
  • Super stylin'
  • childhood nostalgia (more of a personal thing)
  • Higher on the tier list
  • Better OoS options
  • Better character overall
• Against
  • I'd have to learn a new character specific tech
  • Meh air game
  • #NanaStruggles
  • More re-learning
  • Feeling like I wasted time with Yoshi

Play your favorite characters as much as you can until it becomes painfully obvious which is best for you. You figure it out, not us

^ What this guy said. You don't need to know now. Also dual maining does exist, but make sure you aren't too determined to dual main.

Just wanted to drop by and say that if you think Yoshi is damn near impossible to perfect....you clearly haven't seen Wobbles' gfycats. ICs skill ceiling is inconceivably high.

Just wondering, but how proficient are you at shield dropping? It's an incredible tool for yoshi since he can't jump out of shield and also doesn't suffer from shield stun when he shields an attack.

I would say ICs because they're better, but then i remembered that ICs are really boring.
