Yoshi has no tether recovery

I'm not sure this has been addressed yet, but can Yoshi tether with his tongue?

Shiek appears to be able to with her chain, I always thought it was dumb that she couldn't. I sorta wonder about Ness too (yoyostring recover?), seems Lucas just has so many advantages over him.

Edit: I changed the title of this topic so no Yoshi fans would be mislead about him having a tether recovery or not.

I still hope/plan to get good with Yoshi, poor thing.

You mean, Nair when you press the Z button as you would do do a tether? And that you cant tether with neutral B either?

Sorry to disappoint, but no tether. Though I don't think his tongue is long enough for it to be viable, anyway, with his b-up giving vertical distance now, and the auto edge-grabbing in effect now. So don't worry about it too much. Besides, that'd hurt poor yoshi more than it'd help him, he'd be screaming in pain from hanging by his tongue like that >.<

I didn't think it would be in anyways, but this definately proves it. However, I do ask this question as I know you have the game: With characters that don't have a tether recovery, does Z do arial attacks still? I use the a button anyways, but I'm just curious.

Oh Yea! Shield grabbing is one of the best Yoshi techs in Melee. I hope it's just as good in Brawl.

I actually have made shield grabbing a decent part of my game in brawl. =D Of course, it's much harder to follow it up with a combo now, but it's still a good technique, perhaps even bigger now than in melee because of the lack of l cancelling and wave dashing.

Yea, that's true. Oh, how I'll miss L-Cancelling. *sniffle*

Then again, for the people who actually use it with Fox, it'll give me more of a chance against them.
