This was originally going to be just a Melee/Brawl tournament. But if you guys are interested, I will add smash 64 as well. Don't expect a big turnout for 64, it was be for fun and practice.

Competition Rules

Competition format is Double Elimination.

  • All sets with the exception of the below are best-of-3.
  • Winners Finals, Losers Finals and Grand Finals are best-of-5.
Game Settings

  • Mode: STOCK
  • Stocks: 5
  • Handicap: OFF
  • Team Attack: ON
  • Stage Select: ON
  • Damage: 100%
  • Item Switch: NONE
  • All Characters Available
Stages

  • The Stage List consists of Congo Jungle, Peach's Castle and Dream Land.
  • The first match of a set will always be played on Dreamland.
  • Final destination can be played on in a set with gentlemen's rule (FD may be played on if agreed by both players)
Characters

  • All characters are legal.
  • Black DK (Right-C), Dark Samus (Down-C) and Dark Falcon (Right-C) are discouraged if Congo Jungle is the stage for visibility reasons. The opposing player may reset the match without penalty if they wish for a colour change. Taking or dealing any damage nullifies this right.
    Low Tiers are all characters in B tier and below: Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Jigglypuff, Ness, Luigi, Samus and Link.
Set Procedure
  • Players select characters for first match.
  • The first match is played on Dreamland.
  • The loser of the previous match selects the next match's stage from the Stage List.
  • The winner of the previous match selects their character.
  • The loser of the previous match selects their character.
  • The next match is played.
  • Above steps are repeated if necessary.

This one would actually be in the main area, with the fighting games in the back room. Just like the first big yestercades 64 tournament

Probably won't go for 3 reasons:

1) I'm already going to a smaller more local tournament/hanging out with a friend that weekend who's going to that already.

2) This tournament gives out gift cards as prizes to their store. They trade, buy, and sell all kinds of old gaming equipment so it's a chance for me to snatch up some good n64 controllers

3) I get to drive 4 hours less.

Don't get mad at me for not going to this!

This tournament isn't nearly as hyped up as it should be. Are you all so used to being beaten already? Have you punks already accepted your inevitable defeat?

You n00bs will feel the full wrath of a Koroshiyo beat down on Saturday.

We will be traveling with bandaids and ice backs because you guys are gonna need it. The thrashings dished out will be unlike anything ever seen before. There will be tears. Confidence will be CRUSHED. A few of you might even want to quit the game.

The slaughter will be brutal.
The massacre will be severe.

My (obvious 1st place) placing at this tournament means nothing to me. My goal is simple: I want to destroy the positive spirit of each and everyone of you.

From a 10 second google search, I've come up with "Killers" or "Hitmen", and both of those are better than "Koroshiyo".
