Y and Short Hop

All the guides I've seen mention short hopping only with the control stick. Is Y button short hopping not done and if so why?

QDVS from florida, a high level marth, was PR'd for a lonnngg time, uses the control stick to jump. He plays marth, falco, fox, his jiggs is annoying too.

Almost everyone uses the button to jump. I don't know which guides you are reading but they are most likely not very good.

Short Hop =/= regular jump. I'm not that dumb.

a peach would never us the control stick only then u cant float so no float canceling=very bad for peach

iirc Lovage uses the control stick for most if not everything.

rock crock ,qdvs, hbox, and plenty more use only control stick

shiz and cornel use x,y, and control stick
