All right, I've never heard the word "epic" in real life as much as I have on the internet. And when people use it on the internet, it doesn't make any sense! Do you even know what epic means? It means "long." Epic means "long."

...And you guys keep on saying people like Captain Falcon are epic. So, you're saying that Captain Falcon is long? Doesn't make any FREAKIN' sense. Wait, maybe you're talking about the epic "Falcon Punch" video on YouTube. The thirty-five second video where Captain Falcon falcon punches Black Shadow and causes everything to explode? That was only thirty-five seconds! How the hell was that so very long? Yes, it was very manly and cool, but it wasn't epic! It wasn't long!

Please explain why you think Captain Falcon and Chuck Norris are so long.

Epic also means "of unusually great size or extent", so the fact that Captain Falcon nearly destroyed the universe in one punch could be seen as very epic.

Also, the word epic can me grand or awesome. That's why Lord of the Rings is considered an epic.

Also the word epic is fun to say.

That's the charm to slang. It doesn't have to make sense. One can claim that an action is "cool" without anyone batting an eyelash (if you don't understand why an action being "cool" makes no literal sense, then you've proven my point).

"Epic" is actually used correctly most of the time, so as far as slang goes, that word hasn't been butchered too badly. It's got nothing on "sick" or "fierce".

It's still overused though....

Huh? This sentence makes no sense. 'Hell' is a word that means the afterlife (the bad one). It can't mean anything else. What is this word doing here? I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'RE SAYING.

EDIT: Oh, and I think 'epic' is annoyingly overused too.

This thread is epic.
the fact that there is a thread made regarding the word "epic" is epic indeed
>;[
You guys stole the bad and spammy jokes I was thinking of using in this thread! Now I have to reply properly! *Humph!*

The word "epic' when used in net slang is really just saying something is awesome. That's slang. It doesn't need to make any sense, and, in 99% of cases, is way more fun to say than "He's a solid character indeed!".
99% because saying that when talking about Snake is, without a doubt...

EPIC!

"Epic"

Well...

"Epic" is...

Umm...

What is "Epic"...?

Let me spell it for ya!

E is for Ex-treme, the things that we do is,
I is for In-cre-di.... ble
PC is for Power Clinging
Pwning Choobs and
plain simply,
KICKING SOME MAJOR ***.

(P.S. I know it spells EIPC instead of epic, but I did that because it sounds better and more like the spongebob song. Else it would be:

E is for Ex-treme, the things that we do is,
P is for Pwwwwwww-nage
IC is for Incredibly Crazy
Impaling Choobs
plain simply,
KICKING SOME MAJOR ***.)

Must... resist... dirty joke...

Epic. Although it can be used in the traditional ways (poem, long, long poem), it does not have to be used that way always. It's a rapidly growing form of slang both on and off the internet.

It's like, um, an epic song. An epic song would be a song that just makes you want to puff your chest out, roar a manly roar, rest your head on your fist and ponder the mysteries of life, and achieve a feeling that you can conquer any challenge. All at the same time.

I follow the posts of Livvers and Circus wholeheartedly as well.

All right, this topic doesn't seem to have much life left. It'll just descend into "THIS IS EPIC!!!!"
