I had no idea we had blogs.
Well.
I'm John, aka Veril, a NY (not the city) smasher trying to develop the competitive scene in his little town. I've actually had a good deal of success with mini-tourneys and smash-fests becoming more and more frequent as the quality of the players rises. Currently I'm one of, if not the, best players in my area. This isn't saying much.
Nonetheless I feel that I am a first rate smash researcher, having done a lot of work with Lucas' momentum altering specials. I'm currently working on Jigglypuff's ability to counterattack with rest (an AT I've named "Perfect Rest") and perfect shielding. Its really cool how the Jiggs players are actually optimistic about it.

Anyway, I main Lucas, Jiggs, and MK. I went from being pro-ban to anti-ban when I embraced MK as the universal secondary (whatever, bias is the primary motivation for bans). I love him as a character and his playstyle + he counters all the (many) bad matchups Lucas and Jiggs have.
If there are any good players in Putnam county, Westchester, etc who I don't know who want to smash sometime, PM me. I hate wifi and do not play online but if I host a tourney here anytime soon it'd be good to know who might show up.
