Something like this works nice. Worked in Mario Kart Wii, where you could unlock Rosalina either normally or by having an SMG save file, and it would work here too probably.I really like this idea in smash, and if it is implented, it wouldn't be like Olimar's trophy in melee where you needed to have the game to get it. Basically a positive for the game owners while not excluding those who don't have it.
If you want to be doubly disturbed, consider that there three trophies you could never get in Melee. There was the Devil trophy that later became an assist trophy in Brawl that was removed presumably because we Americans are too squeamish to handle something being called a devil (hilariously if memory serves, they actually censored the trophy description and then removed the trophy from the game anyway). There were also trophies for Mario riding Yoshi and Samus with her helmet off that just had no unlock condition and I think were supposed to be given out at some kind of events that never happened. Those are a shame since if you're a Mario or Metroid fan, those were actually really cool trophies.I still find it disturbing that you actually needed to have Pikmin game data in order to get everything in Melee.
Not to sound like a know-it-all, but it was actually Tamagon, the protagonist of Devil WorldIf you want to be doubly disturbed, consider that there three trophies you could never get in Melee. Either way would be fine with me... I main Sonic after all."Oh hey, you have Sonic Lost World! Play 50 more V.S. matches for an early chance to unlock Sonic!"
I'd actually like this. But I wouldn't like:
"Oh hey, you have Sonic Lost World! Sonic is now unlocked!"
That's too easy.
I got the Wii U primarily for Smash. Mario 3D World is good and DKCTF was good but honestly there hasn't been much that is enticing to me at all.. And I'm pretty much a fanboy. I defended the Wii to the end despite how awful the game library was as a whole and how dismally made the system was.Spoiler alert: no.
Awful game library? I'm not sure we're talking about the same system. It had Super Mario Galaxy...I got the Wii U primarily for Smash. Still, not cool to call someone not a true Nintendo fan just because they don't meet your own expectations and opinions. That's the kind of mentality that makes people think you hate your country if you dislike your government
Again, it had mostly platformers. It's pretty lopsided in that regard. No 'real' racers, like one 'real' fighter, three RPGs, the list goes on. I guess you can excuse shooters because almost everybody has two modern consoles.Awful game library? I'm not sure we're talking about the same system. It had Super Mario Galaxy...
Mario Kart Wii's a real racer, it had Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, and even though it lacked depth, Castlevania: Judgement was pretty fun. Come on, man, you obviously know what he means. Mario Kart Wii is an RNG-heavy kart racer that was only ever designed to be casual multiplayer experience. If you're a fan of games like Gran Turismo or Forza then the Wii's got nothing for you. They could've at least had an F-Zero but they dropped the ball on that.Mario Kart Wii's a real racer, it had Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Tatsunoko Vs. The Wii hate on this thread is disgusting
In that list you have: five platformers, one full RPG and another that pretty much needs another game to work, three 'Nintendo sports' games, one untraditional fighter and a hack of said fighter, two hack and slashes, oneThe Wii hate on this thread is disgusting. No More Heroes, Madworld, Xenoblade, Super Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros Wii, SSBB, Project M, Mario Strikers, Mario Kart, Wii Sports Resort, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Pokemon Battle Revolution, WarioWare Smooth Moves, Wario Land: Shake It! Super Paper Mario.
The Wii had nothing close to a shortage of amazing games.
I understand that quality isn't popular these days.In that list you have: five platformers, one full RPG and another that pretty much needs another game to work, three 'Nintendo sports' games, one untraditional fighter and a hack of said fighter, two hack and slashes, oneFPSaction-adventure disguised as a FPS ('FPS' pretty much means online multiplayer nowadays) and a Wariowhatsit.
Most people in USA want 'real' FPSes, and in Japan it's RPGs. The Wii has basically neither. Unsurprisingly, there's people who want consoles with the most popular types of games.
Also, a disclaimer. I'm a tried and true Nintendo fan. I got the Wii, 3DS, and Wii U at launch and beaten all but two of those games. I own every Nintendo handheld except the Virtual boy and GB micro, not counting Japanese only ones like the backlit GB. I've played and beaten W101 (on the hardest difficultly too), F-Zero GX (not beaten lol), 101%ed KIU, and 100%ed SSBB. I didn't even own a PS3 until about a year ago because average shooters and RPGs bore me to death.
So don't even think I'm not a true Nintendo fan.
Well, Nintendo's latest games had ALSO had amazing picture quality.Picture quality is...
Unlikely since the Villager is using the City Folk design rather than the New Leaf one. They have different proportions.I have a rather sneaking suspicion that the 3DS will have a function similar to this for sure.
I imagine if you have an Animal Crossing New Leaf save file your villager will be able to take on the appearance of your own villager.
It really all depends on how/ if they translate the programming over. They could disregard portions and keep facial features and clothing etc.Unlikely since the Villager is using the City Folk design rather than the New Leaf one. They have different proportions.
You also needed to have gone to 2 special distributions to get everything too.I still find it disturbing that you actually needed to have Pikmin game data in order to get everything in Melee.
OKYou also needed to have gone to 2 special distributions to get everything too.
If you brought your memory card, you would receive 2 special trophies; "Mario and Yoshi" with Mario riding Yoshi, and "Maskless Samus Aran," which was obviously Samus without her mask.
WiiU Games that I think Smash could use pre-existing data from are:
- Pikmin 3
- Wonderful 101 (assuming Wonder-Red)
- 3D World
- Tropical Freeze
- Wind Waker HD or another Zelda game if one is out
- MarioKart 8 (maybe)
As for 3DS Games:
- LM: Dark Moon
- 3D Land
- Pokémon X & Y
- Starfox 64 3D
- Kirby Triple Deluxe
- Fire Emblem Awakening
- Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
