Feel free to post why

EDIT: I'm an idiot who doesn't think before he posts polls. I ask that you treat the options as

"Yes, who..."= exactly what it says.
"Yes"= Yes, but Id rather there be an Adventure mode
The "no" options are the same thing really

If a mod could change the poll to those options, that'd be nice.

Probably yeah.

Why? SSE sucked. And Melee´s Adventure Mode isn´t good enough not to buy the game for.

I would really like a new story with cutscenes and everything, but I will definitely buy and play the game with or without one.

The story would have to be more interesting than Brawl's, though. I would rather have more unique characters and stages than a mode that isn't fun to play.

Absolutely, even though I would be a little disappointed.
If that's the case anyway, I expect the content to be much more in the other areas (characters, stages...).

Would buy anyway. While a fleshed single-player mode isn't a bad idea, the main focus of Smash is multiplayer, after all.

I'd rather have one (+I always want to know how a crossover happen , it doesn't matter if it's the whole plot of a story or just something random that show how they do it and the story being completly different)

I'll buy anything Smash anyway , like , Super Smash Thiswillkillyouinyoursleep , I'd buy it,

Some people may only prefer multiplayer game modes, but the truth is, Adventure Mode is needed if you want all the hidden prizes.

I'd be pretty dissapointed, but Smash is a party game above all, so I'd still buy it if I could only play multiplayer, even if it'd suck with no Adventure Mode.

Adventure mode is usually finished in a week maximum, after that it's mainly multiplayer. Having a good adventure mode is a plus, but it's not really necessary.

I'd prefer to have as many features as possible, but it's not a deal breaker by any stretch of the imagination.
SSB64 didn't have an Adventure mode. :p

If they made the Adventure Mode something to truly come back to instead of one-trip mode, it'd become instantly just better.

I mean yeah there was the thing about getting certain trophies from Adventure Mode, but man it was hard. Not to mention most of those trophies were just the boring enemies from SSE when it came to hat.

I want 4 player adventure. That'd be awesome. Adventure is fun, i wouldn't buy smash without it :I After all, multiplayer DOES get boring eventually...unless you're a tournament person who is obsessed with competing. I want an adventure, but with more exploration like how the original legend of zelda had. where i can choose where to go first and what to get first.

Of course. Adventure Mode doesn't even come close to being a deal maker to me. Sure, it's fun and I'd like to see an improvement on Brawl's Adventure Mode, but it's not the main thing I'm looking forward to in this game. (even if it was the main thing, I'd probably still buy the game if it was excluded)

Yes, the multi-player is why I buy Smash.

I have nothing against adventure mode though. It's a nice addition and I think it could be improved.

I would gladly take mini-adventure mode for every character done well, over a kinda disappointing all-stars adventure mode like the Subspace Emissary anyway.

Less development time spent on an adventure mode means more time spent on multiplayer.
I'd be fine with there being none.

Theres sooo many reason why this game could flop...thats why PeePz are soo Edgy..the thing you said above is one of them...

But i think the biggest one is the 3DS version watering down the WiiU version..adding exclusive chars...and just
pissing PeePz off....

Who needs a story mode? Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I'd rather most resources devoted to the multiplayer.

If it was only possible to have both....
Of course, the multiplayer will be embellished due to Namco. Leaving multiplayer aside, let's take a look at SSB adventure mode history:
- S64 didn't have an adventure mode
- SSBM had an average (or below average) adventure mode.
- SSBB had a rather good adventure mode.
We can conclude that the adventure mode is being upgraded through each sequel. Therefore, the possibility of both the adventure mode and multiplayer to be highly upgraded is very likely.

I actually think there might be some differences of opinion about SSBB's story mode being better than SSBM's adventure mode. Considering the amount of effort that went into the two modes, I don't think Subspace Emissary was proportionally better.

All I really want is an excuse to explore different Nintendo universes with different characters. I want to play Game & Watch and tear through dozens of Fire Emblem soldiers. I want to play as Mario and jump from starship to starship in order to punch Andross in the face.

IS THIS TOO MUCH TO ASK?

(But yeah, I'd still purchase Smash if it didn't have a story/adventure mode. I prefer the fun event match setups to "story" anyway.)

But what does upgraded mean? Subspace was just a longer more boring version of the already boring Melee version. Only Subspace had some really cool cut scenes.

If it just means more bloated I say forget it. Subspace was almost too long. No amount of authentic Ninendo stages can truly save it as well. The enemies and back drops would make a bit of difference but it tries to be Kirby game. The fighting and platforming mechanics work well in stationary stages and slowly scrolling stages when you are actually fighting other humans. The moment each stage is turned into a traditional platformer it hardly feels as tight as a Kirby game.

A story mode can work, I just think they have to go about out the actual mechanics of playing it differently.

Meh.. I think I rather not see another adventure mode in the new smash bros. game. I mean sure it'll be fun at first, but once you beat the mode it'll most likely be forgetable and there will be no point in going back to playing it again. I do, however, hope they keep classic mode and all-star mode... now those modes were always fun to play!

(Shrugs) Maybe--and that is a big maybe.

Though the story in Brawl's adventure mode was not overly complex, I enjoyed playing it much more than I did the multiplayer mode--but that is probably because I am more of a solitary gamer than a social gamer. The biggest reason why I bought Super Smash Bros. Brawl was because of the story mode. That being said, I really, really hope there will be another story and adventure mode for the next Super Smash Bros. (Shrugs) Still, in the end, Smash Bros is a fighter, not an RPG. As much as I would like to see a one-player story mode in the next game as solid as Brawl's with maybe some more depth, it would not surprise me if they decided not to add a deep adventure mode, if one at all.

There are many other things that you can do in SSE after you beat it... Did you know that you can capture Tabuu in a trophy on intense mode? Now that's a true challenge, and it's very enjoyable as well.

I honestly don't care for adventure modes at all. I only do it to unlock characters and that's pretty much it. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has that mindset.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot all about the trophy stand feature. I managed to get all the boss trophies in SSE.. including Tabuu! :chuckle: The point is, though, the adventure mode isn't a MUST. The new smash bros. game will survive without it. Personally, I'd rather them introduce a new mode concept instead of bringing back adventure mode.

Honestly... I don't actually love the trophy feature, in the first place, ha. I always see the 300 hundred trophies and think "wow, look at all those models and all that effort that could have been put into making the actual game better." It's the kind of feature I'd only really enjoy if it felt like icing on an otherwise perfectly baked cake, but Smash hasn't reached that point yet.

I've enjoyed replaying through Melee's Adventure mode more than SSE. Once I unlocked the characters I stopped caring, for sure. I think I would've liked it more if the characters that normally talk in their games had some dialogue... as it is, none of the characters in SSE had any meaningful personality, just a lot of friendship and determination. Yawn.
