Hey, so I'm just wondering, would this control scheme work for brawl?

you plug in a super nintendo controller into a small port and it plugs into the wii like a gc controller. like this:

would that work for brawl and could i customize it too?

You could always just use the classic controller. It is an almost perfect duplicate of the SNES controller, with added stuff.

I know. And I probably will. I'm just wondering...just in case.

It could work but it depends how the buttons are mapped. If the SNES D-Pad are used as if using the GameCube's D-Pad, then it won't work. If it emulates the GameCube's Analog stick then you'd be already (I doubt it).

Sakurai did say you could map your buttons to whatever scheme you want. So you have a better chance.

Seems like a lot of extra work for no payoff. Why would you want to play like this in the first place? The SNES controller doesn't really have enough buttons for Smash. Just use a GC controller like the rest of the world.

Assuming complete remapping is in (which we have every reason to believe), yeah, it'd work fine. You could use a modified wiimote-like scheme.

As to why... because it's sweet and retro. If I could own my friends with a SNES controller... haha
