The smash scene is pretty much dead here, and as the title says, are there any smashers in the central PA area who would potentially attend a monthly / bi-monthly here?

Would there be any interest in a monthly in Central PA?

Interest is proportional to amount of tournaments and knowledge of said tournaments
In other words, to build up a scene, you have to generate the interest by organizing a tournament and letting people know about it. To quote a bad movie, "if you build it, they will come". Looking for people interested in a project that hasn't even started yet is a waste of time.
Plan your tournament, your schedule, your venue, your payout scheme, date included, find a source of setups and maybe a person or two to help you set it up. Make a facebook event for your tournament, and advertise it in the right outlets (IE gaming clubs, gaming centers, facebook pages for smash/pm/melee in your area, whatever is suitable).
