Would i be wasting my time creating a smash blog-site, for big community updates?

Would have things like hype videos, hype up-coming tournaments, results of said big tournaments, or just anything that is big in our scene..maybe eventually start getting interviews in or something.

is this appealing to anyone? I know all the content I would have is accessible here already, but smashboards is more of a database of everything, my site would be the 'best of' the content.

opinions? ideas?

update;
Also i started working on a template..i'm no genius at web design but i dunno i'm alright with it. it's very simplistic for now.

I intend to create a somewhat similar blog/website, that is some sort of smash press agency. I've got to meet at least one smasher from pretty much every active region or country, so I think that such a network could make my project possible.

I'd be happy to talk to you about these, if you're interested.

I think such a site would be a welcome addition to the community. It'd be awesome to see a sort of "Channel 5 News" kinda thing covering the latest happenings and videos, as well as showing up at events for commentary and player interviews. If that's the sort of thing you have in mind, that is.

This is something I have a little bit of experience with, and I think it's a great idea. I'd love to help out if you want, I think I could contribute.

why not a youtube channel shared by all the regions?

you could record interviews and ****, and just send them to someone else for editing and uploading

I would also be interested in contributing to something like this. If you need help getting this off the ground or are interested in asking for some help you should let me know.

Do it, modernize our image.

Smashboards still looks and feels the same as it did in 2000.
THE INTERNET IS FAR BETTER THAN THAT, OUR SITE MAKES US LOOK STUPID TO THE OTHER FIGHTING GAME COMMUNITIES. Well, that and brawl.

It's just my honest opinion that I think such a site would not receive much traffic at all.

There was an old thread months ago about some type of centralized character video repository, perhaps you could add some feature like that to the site?

Something that would allow you to pick a character watch a video of them vs another character, like a list of matchup examples you could watch. It could be pretty helpful to newer players and would just be something cool to do that has not already been done with smash.

Sort of like this, except with a dynamic video listing.

I'd definitely be interested in a blog site like that.

Browsing all over smash boards, trying to keep track of current/upcoming tournaments, what's happening locally, streams, interviews, i'm too lazy to browse all the relevant smash threads.

Also, I think it would be pretty useful for attracting newcomers/audience.

Would it be only melee? or Brawl too? Nothing against that, just wondering.

An organized video hub would be pretty awesome.
