Worst Part About SSBB Release

This weekend and the week before last have both caused me to realize a horrible truth. The weekday 1:00 a.m. Central time has become the center of a kind of ritual I can regularly look forward to--that is, spamming the refresh button until the new Dojo post is on screen. And naturally, Saturday morning around this time is a bit more disappointing because there is nothing new to see. I'm certain I'm preaching to the choir when I say I sort of live and die by these posts...but after the Japanese release, this excitement will be no more. Therefore, the weekdays will lose any special luster that the Dojo posts once gave them, and we'll return to life as usual.

I'm just saying that while of course I'm on the edge of my seat to learn all I can about the game (and play it, obviously)--I will somewhat miss the thrill of the mystery, speculations, etc. And the weeks between the Japanese release and ours will be particularly excruciating--Dojo posts will be pointless to those who follow these forums, and although we will be able to catch the full scent of this game, we'll still be unable to taste it.

Just wondering if anyone even remotely shares in my sentiments!

never thought about that. you're pretty much right though. it's exciting to check the site on weeknights never knowing what kind of awesome thing will be revealed. similar to a lottery except you always win!

Not really. I'm usually just playing a game or talking with friends and I'm like "oh the dojo updated five minutes ago."

I don't think they're going to just stop. With Melee, the site was updates with secret characters, and Sakurai knows that once the game comes out in Japan there's still the rest of the world waiting for it.

What is this "life" of which you speak? Personally, I don't think I would check the secret character updates.
Try looking at the order of the posts?

I wasn't even ****ing referring to that. Read my other post. NOT EVERYONE IS THE SAME.

Don't worry, unlike Christmas which only comes once every year. Brawl will be the gift that keeps on giving.

haha. nicely put. i am in EST and sometimes stay up just for the dojo update. So not having them anymore would be kinda sad, except now i'll be up even later actually playing Brawl. Not a bad trade-off me thinks. :)

Hah, word. Yeah, I'd mostly just wanted to remark about how much the gap between the release dates is gonna suck--but I acknowledge mine's shorter than those in other countries...which brings up a really good historical question.

Does nuking a nation help strengthen ties with it in the long run?

you can always choose not to look at the spoilers and only look at the dojo.

I guess some of that anticipation will be gone, but the trade off is the game. For America and Japan. Australia and Europe will have to wait six ungodly months or more. Just insane.

I will miss it, but having the game is a much, MUCH better than having the Dojo.

Yeah, I've been staying up 'till 1 every night to see the new update. It's been fun expecting those little bits of information about the game. But, I'm only so excited about them because I'm so dang excited about Brawl. Once I have, Brawl in my hands, I'll be fine not waiting for these updates because I'll have what I've been waiting for years for in my hands.
