Hello there!

With the Smash scene growing and many more new players still to come, I though I would make a little guide highlighting each characters strengths and specialties, to help anyone take their first step into competitive Smash, or for anyone contemplating picking up another to their personal roster!

The main dilemma I have is I don't main EVERYONE in P:M, nor am I a self-proclaimed Smash genius. So, I thought I'd ask you guys, the experts to your respective mains! If you could help me out by filling out a few lines of info for me, I'll be collecting the data and responses during the week and compiling them. Once it's all collected, I'll release the guide (somewhere on the boards, not sure yet...). So if you could take a few minutes to help, I would really appreciate it!

Pros: Strengths and advantages of this character!

Cons: Weaknesses and disadvantages!

Character Specifics to Learn: Techniques exclusive to only this character (example: Squirtle's shell abilities)

Similar To: Characters that play similar to this one or have a similar strategy.

Secondaries that Compliment: A secondary character that covers certain weaknesses the main has.

(Optional) Best video example of this character in action.

Cheers!

(Sorry if you see this thread posted in multiple character forums, I find the best way to gather info is to ask directly!)

Pros: You can attack out of up b (very useful for comboing), lots of priority on all attacks, dair is a spike, nair hitbox is huge, double bacon as approach, disjointed fair, all the tilts stay out for a very long time, up b has ridiculous range, up b oos is great for escaping all pressure, downtilt edgeguarding is so good it's broken, bucket breaking
Cons: extreme lightweight, recovery is predictable, difficult to approach with, characters with good range are difficult (marth, charizard, roy etc.)

that about sums up my experience.
ps: game and watch should be S tier ;)

Edit: whoops forgot the other sections

Similair to: Characters that use more spacing than technical prowess (Rob, Wario, Seik etc.)

character specifics to learn: bucket braking, hammer predictions, 1 frame gatling combo

Secondaries to compliment are: Technical characters that have different playstyles like falco. also other spacing chars like marth or sheik

good videos: basically any of the salty highlight (doof is crazy)

also for doubles incase you want this info: any char that can fill Game and Watchs bucket quickly (specifically ZSS who's down smash fills the bucket almost immediately and does 60% which is almost a guarantied insta kill)
also characters who are faster help out for pressuring.

Pros: Frame 1 Up B! Escape getting comboed by most the cast. He has an amazing recovery and great combo game. Also has a low technical skill threshold. Bonus: Really great in teams

Cons: Fairly light character. Has tough match ups with characters with better disjoints. Has trouble dealing with good projectiles

Character Specifics to Learn: Dacus, B reverse, and Up-B Out of Shield

Similar To: Similar to sword characters in a sense that he plays spacing games with massive disjoint attacks.

Secondaries that Compliment: DDD, fox, and falco- DDD can handle Sword characters and spacies can handle Ivy and the Link characters.

(Optional) Best video example of this character in action.
