But then you'll also have the people playing awful music. It has its pros and cons.I'll be very surprised if it's included, but I hope so. Especially now that there's a portable game. Making fun of unwary players who forget to turn off their mic while grunting on the toilet would be great. They were a riot on PlayStation All-Stars' wi-fi modes, thanks to the Vita version. And let's not forget the plethora of 13-year olds shouting obscenities while telling everyone they play to follow them on Miiverse. Wouldn't it be great to be playing random wi-fi on SSB4 one day, only to bump into Allan and Nicole playing doubles together over voice chat? Do you not see the implications? Voice chat most certainly happen, nay, it must happen. There is no other way.
That stagnant 2011-esque attitude!I remember in an interview Sakurai mentioned that if you just NEED to talk to the guy you're playing against, use Skype or something.
Honestly, that sounds more like 70% of the online community for Xbox than Nintendo.Voice chat is one of those things people complain about not having but in reality never use. Sure, sometimes it's great on CoD to talk **** and make new friends, but this is Nintendo, and a majority of the people who will be playing besides those in the smash community will be whining arrogant *** kids and weaboos playing there even more annoying vocaloid bull ****.
So, for this game, an option to voice chat between friends is fine, but random people? Nah I'm good.
Can I take my vote back now? I'm not so certainIt's just up to the developer, actually. Games like Trine 2 for Wii U have voice chat with online mulitplayer.
So it's actually up to Sakurai.
Lol I don't think you can once you've already voted hahaCan I take my vote back now? I'm not so certain
I honestly feel as though voice-chat is part of the friend making process. I mean, we have a forum, there is always people that we "know" to play against. But the average player doesn't have the luxury, meeting people online is a huge part of an online game. Even if there are childish trash talkers, that doesn't really change that whole point of online gaming. If sensitive gamers can't handle it, mute the aggressor. It doesn't even need to be an optional thing. Just add a mute button like every other voice based online experience.Voice chat would be crucial in making the online experience on par with... two generations ago? But I've a feeling it would not be supported, because Sakurai seems to favor the "Everyone is a winner" philosophy and wouldn't want to risk there being trash talk against sensitive players. Maybe a middle ground would be to enable it for registered friends, but disable it in With Anyone battles.
I agree with you there! I just don't think Nintendo would agree with us. It seems like they're trying to keep the favor of younger gamers and their parents and would tiptoe around in-game online communications till the end of days. And yeah, what you said is another viable option; just give the player a way to selectively mute it, or have a parental control setting or something.MorbidAltruism said:I honestly feel as though voice-chat is part of the friend making process. I agree completely with this. I think we'll be very lucky to get a better internet experience let alone Voice Chat support; Nintendo tends to fall behind with these things. However, this idea of only allowing friends registered on your list would be a good idea IMO, kind of like how those giant taunt bubbles that appeared with text in Brawl only appeared for friends as well.Voice chat would be crucial in making the online experience on par with... two generations ago?
