eh Nintendo isn't really one to jump into all that fancy stuff but it would be great if there was.

I would consider the create a stage and snapshot dlc but I know what you mean.

how will people with no internet even play online then?

most people have internet by now. even if it';s dail-up. i think some downloadable content could be more maps for stage builder, or themes, like a christmas theme stage, etc. maybe some skins. color changes. updates.

They can send stages and screenshots to you... don't see why downloadable content is impossible... The Wii just needs the space.

The space needed for one snapshot and 1 stage on the hardrive is very, very small. Think about it. 1 snapshot in itself take up vitrually nothing on the Wii's flash memory, and custom stages only make use of objects and setups that are already present on the disc image. The only data sent are the memory addresses which dictate the arrangement of those stage parts, which literally only take single blocks of memory. The same applies to downloadable patches which only modify existing elements in the game. They take up virtually no space.

As far as stuff like whole new stages and characters, those have the capacity to eat up quite a bit of memory, which is unfeasible due to low hard disk space.

Snapshot of the day, stage of the day, downloadable patches are all feasible, but true DLC that takes up tens of hundreds of MB will not work on the Wii.

I think a new character really wouldn't take up that much hard drive space, not to mention you could save it on an SD card (which is what Nintendo seems to be pushing) I forsee downloadable characters personally, and I see them costing money, but it is money well spent.

If Nintendo discontinues the 512MB Wii and start making 2GB Wii and offers a HDD for free for consumers who already have the old Wii, would you be satisfied or angry?

Probably, there's no good reason why not. Unless you're afraid of half a megabyte being taken up...

Not this again...

NO DLC FOR BRAWL

Some patches and balance fixes, maybe. New characters? Not gonna happen. Are you going to have to download a new character select screen as well?

Patches seem reasonable since they would take up very little memory. Stages and snapshots have already been confirmed. Characters, however, seem highly unlikely due to the Wii's very limited memory.

I don't see why they couldn't make downloadable content. SD cards go up to several gigabytes now and that's plenty of space. Also the Wii does have a USB port so there's always the possibility of a Wii harddrive, compatibility with other external harddrives or compatibility with USB flash drives, so the storage issue is not that hard to solve.

most people who get Brawl will be getting it, at least in part, to play online, so it goes without saying that they'd have broadband anyway. If they have the capacity to play online, why not use that same connectivity to download content too?

...Sorry, but that sounded really stupid...

So, you think Nintendo is going to have us save a character to an SD card, after paying for the character?

Wow...Wow.
