Will the GameCube controller adapter be able to replace the Wii U Classic Controller (Pro)?

I know it has a couple months to be released and I'm just wondering... will the GameCube controller adapter be able to replace the Wii U Classic Controller (Pro)? I'm relatively new to Wii I and I know on the Wii the GC controller can replace it's classic controller, so I'm wondering if it'll be the same.

Edit: What I meant was, will I be able to use the gamecube controller on games that say they can use the Wii U pro (whatever it's called, I don't care @_@) because I personally don't like the feel of it. I would personally like to use the GC controller on the games that allow the Pro, that's why I asked, wasn't trying to do some "Will GC controller overpower the Pro?" No, coz I know people have their preferences so that's not what mattered to me. (Hopefully that's more clear -.-...)

Why does it matter. People play with whatever they're comfortable with.

Replace? Absolutely not. Live side by side with it? Yes, it can and will. I only plan on getting two GC controllers and one more Pro Controller, because I like the way both controllers feel.

Yes the Gamecube controller will replace all controllers for ever on Nintendo systems.

I think its for the best in my situation. Its a good controller except for the d-pad. It needs to be clicky like the 3ds and dsi have.

The fact is that both controllers lack something the other controller has. The Gamecube controller has pressure sensitive triggers, while the Pro controller has clickable analogue sticks, a select button, and an extra bumper (and a d-pad that's actually usable).

You're already getting confused by the controller types.

There's the Classic Controller.

Classic Controller Pro.

And the Wii U Pro Controller.

If you're referring to the Wii U Pro Controller, which is in some ways, better than the Gamecube controller, yes, they will live together.

It's obvious Nintendo is planning on releasing Gamecube HD/remakes/virtual console titles with this adapter. It's just more convenient to make Smash compatible with it. It's a win win situation.

I think he's asking if mechanically will the Gamecube controller work in place of a Classic controller, not whether one will supersede the other. I'm not sure, but I'd imagine it could depending on the game.

They will co-exist. And personally, I prefer the Wii U pro controller. It's just imo, the Gamecube controller is the "arcade stick" for Smash.

I wouldn't use a GCN controller for any game but Smash Bros now that I have the better Wii U Pro controller that I wish would be used in Wii U's Wii-mode.

Just as I wouldn't use an arcade stick for any other game but TvC or MvC3. Of course, if I feel like in the retro mood, I'll bring it out to play Pac-Man or Galaga.

I think you all are missing what I mean. I mean, the games that use the Classic... with I be able to use the Gamecube controller instead.

Yes, exactly that, thank you! :bee:

You most likely will, unless they're making the GameCube controller adapter exclusively for the hardcore Smash fans.
I'm hoping both... and HD remixes... :awesome: But all three of those thing would be amazing, just to have the option, y'know? Coz I don't like the Pro thingy... it's not a controller I see myself being comfortable with, I only use it because I'd rather a controller rather then the giant gamepad most of the time.

That depends on the game, and if you mean the Wii Classic Controller or the Wii U Pro Controller. A lot of Wii games that supported the classic controller also supported the Gamecube controller (not all, but I'd be willing to guess a majority did). That's because the only thing the Classic Controller had on the Gamecube controller was the select button and an extra bumper (and like I said, a usable d-pad). The Wii U Pro Controller, on the other hand, also adds two clickable analogue sticks to the mix, making the gap between it and the Gamecube controller larger (although like I also said, the GC controller also has pressure sensitive triggers to help bridge that gap, but really, what Wii U developer would develop around a feature not present on the Wii U's primary controllers). Whether or not a game lets you use the Gamecube controller (or Wii Classic Controller) will most likely be based on just how many of the features exclusive to the Pro Controller the game makes use of. If it makes use of the clickable analogue sticks, extra bumpers and select button, odds are that Gamecube controller compatibility won't be included in the game in question.

If they made that, I'd be ecstatic.

That's very true... I had no idea they clicked and didn't have the pressure sensitivity. I'm sorry, I'm super new to Wii U, I was so reluctant to get one because the first one I tried, the person had to have messed up their gamepad, it was super unresponsive, the touchscreen was finicky and glitchy so I was like, "Yeah, I'm never getting this piece of **** system." But, since SSB4 was nearing, I forced myself to try again and that's when I realized that it was indeed that persons pad that was ****ed up... although the touch screens themselves are still pretty unresponsive, though not as much.

If they made that, I'd be ecstatic.
That would be perfect @ Canuckduck Canuckduck o.o

And it's heavy as all **** and a nightmare for my carpal tunnel.

I don't think the GC controller will be able to be used on Wii U Pro-based games unless they're patched. I can see WWHD and MK8 allowing it, for example, but not Assassin's Creed.

Heavy enough and every controller's a nightmare for carpal tunnel.

It's more awkward then heavy. Holding your hands (almost) straight ahead in the air for as long s people play video games and how they gold controllers, much of the time not resting on their legs. I have gotten a couple small cramps in my hand. LoL I kind f understand what @ Saikyoshi Saikyoshi means, it's just different, it's just something new to get used to. LoL

Don't think so.

I bet some games will let you use it after the adapter comes out, but don't expect it to work on games as a pro controller replacement.

The thing's just missing buttons.

That's true, just hoping it will work on most games I get.

Oh yeah. Forgot about ZL.

There's a reason I can't get away with using the Mayflash Adapter on DBZBT3 and Wonderful 101.
