I started playing Melee when I heard Snake was going to be in Brawl so I could be ready. Turns out it's an entirely different physics engine... I should've been playing Halo 3.
well it's not like playing melee will doom you, when I said don't play it like melee I meant the advance tech stuff for example:
Dashdancing makes you look stupid because the timing is incredibly weird so you usually just end up dashing and stopping... so no pivoting either it seems
You can tell when someone trys to wavedash because they just do a short hop airdodge in whatever direction they were moving in
^ same with attempted jump canceled grabs ^
everyone was short hopping and fast falling aireals... like half of snakes aireals are useless if you fastfall them
and it's not just snake like marths foward smash is pretty terrible, people seemed to be getting killed by his F-air off the ceiling and the sides more than forward smash
and sometimes you trip randomly which is weird
basically what I'm trying to say is.. this isn't melee 2.0 it's brawl, don't play it like melee.
I really don't know what else to say about how to play it... try new stuff you can attack after you air dodge, you can attack after you Up-B, be creative
