in the first trailer meta is shown using his cape to deflect pits arrow back to him.

if this is a move in the game and seeing that it is verry similar to foxs shine and if it (and the verry impotant bit) actualy does damage. then do you lot think we could be doing shine combos wid meta?

all though i dont think we would nickname it shine any ideas?
i say vanish or mirror but im a noob anyway so they probz aint the best.

I think it's just a deflector, such as Mario's cape.
It probably does no damage to the other opponent unless the projectile which was sent back, hits the target.

Mario's cape does damage :0

In fact, I don't think there's a deflector in the game that does no damage.

EDIT: Everyone, new challenge! Find a deflector with no hitbox :p

I can't see it doing any damage of it's own. In fact, It didn't really look like it got sent back, if I remember correctly. It looked like is just dissipated.

@ SSJ4: Link's Hylian Shield. You said DEflector, not REflector

Toad (Peach's nB does no damage unless you hit it--and you could probably count Roy and Marth's counters, too)

Oh...and everyone's shield (other than powershielding)

At first I thought the projectile went straight through him, but I remembered wrong. I skipped through the trailer again quick and it did indeed just dissipate.

Heck, that might be his actual block animation. Hopefully we'll know soon enough when they release MetaKnight and his moves on the site...

Did some of you look at the trailer?

It doesn't deflect the arrow back at Pit - it sort of just disintegrates.

To me it's too early to speculate about what it does... We didn't see enough of it.

I can't say until I see it in actual gameplay and not in wierd angles.

But if he does, I don't think it will be that powerful, it isn't going to come out in 1 frame, and I see it not having spike properties as the shine (it will probably make charaters go upwards).

You realize that part of the trailer was cinematic, right?

None the less, it definitely looks like it just goes thru and hits the ground behind him, so if it is in the game, I say it's just a spot dodge.

It's a cinimatic, so it's not real. Just like how Wario doesn't use his bike as an attack.

REgardless, post in the metaknight topic.
