Wiimote: The new C stick?

I have no idea why this took me so long to thing of. I'm sure people have seen the thread(s?) on how the wiimote could, sans motion sensing, be used in Brawl as it has enough buttons. But just recently, I remembered a statement by Sakurai that I translated where he states that they may add a "gimmick-like function" to the wiimote.

I thought about it... Since the wiimote could possibly work like a normal controller, what gimmick could this be? Then I remembered Sakurai saying something before melee came out. He said something similar in reference to the C stick, and how they would add some non-essential function to it in the game, a gimmick-like function if you will.

So the natural conclusion I came to is this: Will the wiimote's motion sensing be the new C stick? Will you have the option of just flicking your wrist and doing a smash attack?

While I think I'd still prefer the GC/Classic over this kind of setup in the long run, I think that it could still be alot of fun!

Non essential function???? Wow, its utterly amazing that the MAKER of this game doesn't even understand it. Surely the man who created DI would understand that without the c-stick it is otherwise impossible to do reversed fairs, or non fastfalled dairs (You can do that without the c-stick, but it's really hard for most players)

Not to mention SHFFLED Uairs. Jeez.

That's possible yes. Charging smasher would be kinda weird (if you would want to smash to the left, you would have to something like pull your hand to the right and then to the left, making the right swing a bit confusing) but this sounds good. Controlling the character with your left hand and smashing with it too.

...Or, you could just have the D-Pad be the C-Stick.

Why hold a GCN controller in one hand and a wii-mote in the other?
And dyleen it is not hard to non-fastfall dairs. Just don't smash the ****ing analogue stick.

Or just use the GCN controller which has a C-Stick on it. Don't make the game harder than it is all ready. It's not Zelda, playing the Wii-mote would be really really odd. I say..stay with GCN controller.
It will be odd untill you get used to it. It'll work just fine, and every move can still be done. Just look.

GC - - - - - Wiimote/nunchuck
Controll stick=Controll stick (move)
A=A (attack)
B=B (attack)
X&Y=down on d-pad (jump)
L&R=Z (sheild)
Z=C (grab)
up on d-pad=up on d-pad (taunt)
c-stick=flick wiimote left/right/up/down

z buttons on the classic controller would probably become the sheild or grab buttons. It's a toss up and since they are on both sides of the controller, comes down to user preference.

Other wise, there's only 1 Z button
