Smash Wii U Wii U preorder incentives?

Before you get up in arms saying "OH WOW YOU MADE THE SAME THREAD FROM THE 3DS BOARD", yes, that's partially true, except the Wii U version still has a few months at worst, so this idea can be fleshed out. Now that that's out of the way, let's begin.

Just yesterday I preordered my Wii U version in full so I can get the funds for a Wii U by the time our Black Friday equivalent comes along. In my country, at least, as I posted on the 3DS board, you receive a poster as a bonus. Later, for the midnight launch of SSB3DS, they added a mostly meh bracelet. What's my point?

My point is, the Wii U version obviously has a lot more going for it. I know preorder bundles already exist for Smash+GC adapter and controller, but what if they threw in something else? Like a random Amiibo? If you ask me, that would make a ton more and give much more of a reason to preorder than simply securing your copy before everyone else.

Being serious, yeah the random amiibo would be awesome. There is that rumor that the game comes w/ a free one anyway, but, whether that's true or not, it would probably be Mario.

Getting the game early if my cousins store gets the shipment the Friday before (usually Nintendo has Sunday releases) so getting the game early is my incentive

I'll preorder if it comes with the console. Since that's kinda what I'd need to be able to get the U version.

Otherwise, an Amiibo (though there really aren't that many I'd want) would be a nice perk, though maybe a bit high-value for a preorder.

When I pre-ordered, the guy at GameStop told me there were two versions, the standard one and the one that came with the gamecube adapter and a controller. He didn't mention any pre-order bonuses, though. Maybe there will be some later on.

This is my point. Back at the 3DS board, when I made this topic people would mention the bonus in their region(one gets a dog tag, another a bag and t-shirt, and yes, my region gets a bracelet+poster), which seemed like a last ditch effort to me to get you to spend a tiny bit of $$$ to secure your copy. I preordered [the 3DS version] in March, so the point was moot for me(hell my receipt is almost blank from being in my wallet )

My point is, besides Amiibos, what's the logical choice to trigger preorder incentive besides things like:

The game is the incentive.

Nintendo obviously wants this to be a Killer App, so what options do they have?

-Smash+Wii U bundle
-Smash+Amiibo bundle*
-Day 1 DLC(unlikely)

What else?

*Amiibos are already available for preorder in some places, including mine, so I doubt the possibility of this one.

The newest COD has a "Day Zero Edition" for its pre-order bonus, which basically amounts to getting the game a day early. If Smash could get something like that then I'd pre order yesterday.

If they wanted to go the route of exclusive pre-order DLC, it would have to be an exclusive costume set, similar to Hyrule Warriors. Something that isn't vital to the gameplay but that diehard fans would want to get anyways.

We haven't really received any information about that other than there will be "series". Just like Skylanders/Disney Infinity.

I just preorder games that I know a lot of people are going to buy, to make sure I got mine before they sold out... Since I'm guessing you live in Mexico as well, I'm pretty sure there's no "set in stone" design for the poster yet. It's impossible to know if it'll change yet, so we can't assume it's the same poster.

Time will tell.

In an ideal world there would be the game, GC controller and adapter, and an Amiibo figure all for a discounted price.

I can definitely see a Wii U deluxe bundle containing all of those. However it is tough to see retailers packaging just the game with the controller and GC adapter. Seeing as you don't need the GC controller to play the game, it's just a preference.

I can see them creating some kind of discount for an Amiibo figure.

I hope so but I don't think they care enough to make more than one design, I suppose that's why they'll give the bracelet

An Amiibo would be nice, but those can be aquired whenever you want. I would preorder the game in a heartbeat if the incentive was something a bit more exciting, like exclusive alternate costumes. Sony did the same thing for PlayStation All-Stars, and that is the only reason why I preordered that game.

Costumes which were then released for all, and for free I might add.

A random Amiibo on the other hand is a much more oddball and desirable bonus.

At least when that Nintendo of Canada name-dropped Rayman as a potential newcomer in one video they took the time to clear it up .

Well, he's a friend of mine; it was a casual conversation and he said it as a fellow gamer who is also hyped to play Smash Bros. He said it based on what he thinks is likely, rather than with the mindset of a salesman, especially considering I'd already pre-ordered it months prior. Either way, I just figured I'd mention it.

Much like the 3DS version, a poster, but instead of a bracelet, a keychain. I think that this time Mega Man is the final design.

I've got it paid off at Gamestop. Hopefully they're good to go w/ some sort of preorder bonus... But if not I probably wouldn't be too upset. I'm already getting a Smash 4 poster from vistaprint and tbh the game is what I'm most stoked for. And I went to the midnight launch of Brawl at the same store. And I used to work for that store. Still, etc

A Wii-U preorder should come with a Mewtwo/Ridley Amiibo that when you try to activate in game it plays the "Trololo" video with Sakurai's face over the guy's.

The secret double-troll is that they both end up in the game anyways, but that video makes you think they aren't.

Anyway, a $13 amiibo as a pre-order bonus isn't too likely. Nintendo is hurting and retailers can only force them to do so much.

I could see them putting random amiibos in with the Wii U bundles, But I don't think there is any chance of them being included just for pre-ordering the game.
